Jade's POV:
It's been two weeks since Perrie stopped partying and getting drunk all the time and things were really going well between the two of us. I think I am slowly getting the old Perrie back, my best friend.
It's Saturday night and I am getting ready to go out with Jed. I told Perrie about it and she didn't seem happy, but she didn't push it, which I was thankful for. We both know that if she asked me not to go, I wouldn't.
My outfit for tonight is pretty casual. Black skinny jeans and a red crop top with matching red heels. My make-up is light and subtle and my hair is in loose curls. Even though I look casual, I still put the effort in. Even if nothing ends up happening, he can see what he's missing out on.
"Pez, I'm heading out. I don't think I'll be gone for long, but you don't need to wait up." I walk inside the living room, grabbing my purse. Perrie's eyes scan my body intensely, looking me up and down.
"Wow, Jade, you look amazing. He doesn't deserve you." The blonde walks towards me and puts her hands on my cheeks. "Don't say that..." My voice comes out weak. She knows what effect her words have on me.
"I'm sorry, Jade. It's just that you are gorgeous, intelligent, funny and kind and he is none of the above." After that small revelation, she slowly kisses my cheek. "But if you're happy, you know I am, Jadey."
This was another thing Perrie was doing lately. She got physically close with me almost all the time. I was confused at first because of the sudden constant physical contact between us. But I figured she was getting frustrated because of her lack of sex. Going from having sex with strangers multiple times a week to no sex at all must be tough.
"Thank you, Pez. That means a lot!" Her hands drop to my arms and she slowly starts stroking them up and down as she smiles at me. Her eyes flicker to my lips and I feel a blush creep up my cheeks.
"I should really get going now," I say while making no move to leave. "Yeah, you should." Perrie pulls her hands away and I quickly turn around and walk out the door.
Perrie's POV:
A deep sigh escapes between my lips. What the hell was I thinking touching Jade like that. If she had stayed quiet for a few more seconds, I would have crashed my lips against hers.
I quickly text Dani to come over. We haven't met up in a few weeks. I was either busy with work or having quality time with Jade. Not that I didn't love the fact that Jade and I were back on track, but sometimes I just needed some sort of release.
Dani texted back to say that she was just thinking the same thing. This friends-with-benefits thing was really easier than I expected.
After fifteen minutes, the doorbell rings and I quickly make my way to the door. I don't even open the door completely before Dani's lips are on mine as she pushes me inside, closing the door with her foot.
My hands are on her waist and I push her against the door as her tongue meets mine. We are fighting for dominance as Dani turns us around and slams me against the door. I groan into her mouth, which makes her bite my bottom lip.
Dani is being pretty rough today, probably also missing the action those last weeks. I'm guessing that she is also not sleeping with anyone except for me. The fact that Dani was so willing to come over does indicate that she was also craving sex. She pulls away from my lips and starts attacking my neck, sucking and biting. That was surely going to leave some marks for me to cover up.
Her hands start roaming my body, massaging my breast roughly. "Dani, can you plea..." "Shut up, Perrie." She growls as she pulls my shirt over my head.
Her hand finds its way under my skirt while her mouth goes down from my neck to my breasts. Suddenly my head starts to spin. I try to focus, but I can't. The panic is slowly taking over and there's nothing I can do to stop it.
The thoughts of that night come back all at once and hit me like a truck. They aren't Dani's hands anymore. They are his.
I try to tell him to stop, but the words won't come out. By this point, tears are streaming down my face. I want to stop this, but I can't. This can't be happening to me. It just can't. My thoughts are all over the place and I can't focus on reality anymore.
"Perrie?" I hear a voice in the distance, but I can't concentrate on it. I slide down the door sobbing uncontrollably. My breathing is so out of control that my throat is burning and it feels like I could pass out.
"Perrie, babe, look at me. Please." The voice is still far away, but I try my best to focus on it. If I want this to stop, I have to use all my energy on that voice. I feel two hands in mine and my eyes shoot up in fear.
When my eyes meet Danielle's, I calm down a little bit. "Keep looking at me, okay?" I nod my head lightly. "Focus on me and your breathing. Come on, let's breathe together." She takes long deep breaths and I try to follow her lead, but I feel like there's no air getting in my lungs. Dark thoughts keep rushing by, but I try to let them pass without lingering.
"You're doing great! Keep going." I squeeze her hands as I try to breathe as slowly as possible. After a few minutes, my breathing is almost back to normal, but the tears haven't stopped. "I'm so sorry, Perrie... Can you tell me what just happened?"
Danielle's worried eyes look at me expectantly. I don't know if I should tell her or not. I haven't even told Jade because I was too scared to relive the past when I told her. Well, that already happened now anyway.
"Uhm yeah, I can try to tell you."
Jade's POV:
So far, my date with Jed is going well, not great, just good. It was not that he was doing something wrong specifically, but the whole night I just had the feeling that we didn't really click anymore.
Maybe we never really did.
"Perrie has an exhibition of her photography a few blocks away. Maybe we can go take a look?" I suggest it s since this pub is loud and crowded and I don't like the way it smells here.
"Is anything ever not going to be about her?" Jed sighs. "What do you mean by that?"
"Exactly what I said, Jade. Everything is always about her. For god's sake, we even broke up because of her!" He raises his voice and my eyes widen in shock. "What do you mean we broke up because of her? I thought we broke up because we wanted different things in life?"
"Yeah true, I wanted to be your first choice and you wanted to fuck your best friend." He says dryly. Before I know what is happening, my hand slaps across his face. Only then does the realization of what I just did hit me. "Oh my god. I'm sorry, Jed."
"I'm done with this, Jade, I really am. I'm done being your second choice. Go home to your first one." I don't have a chance to answer before he leaves the bar. I'm left sitting there stunned and confused.
What he was saying wasn't even making sense. Yes, Perrie was always my priority, but that's because she is my best friend. I didn't like her in any other way. I mean, the blonde is freaking gorgeous and my heart speeds up when she's close and I like it when she touches me so gently... Oh my god.
Maybe there was a little truth to his words. I didn't like it when Perrie was with Zayn. I always said it was because I didn't like him, but maybe I just wanted to be him.
Fuck, Jade, don't let him get into your head. I'm just going home and get a good night of sleep.
When I come home, the lights are on in Perrie's room, so I decide to check on her. I knock on her door and enter without waiting for an answer. "Hey, Pez, I'm back home." She looks up from the book she's reading on her bed. "Hey, what's wrong, Pez?" Her eyes are all red and puffy and she looks exhausted.
I quickly make my way over to her and wrap her in my arms. She returns the hug and sighs into my ear. "It's fine, just please stay with me. You are all I need right now." My heart flutters because of her words but breaks instantly when she starts sobbing.
"I'm here, Pez, and I'm not going anywhere, ever."
