Perrie's POV:

When I step out of the shower, I feel the most relaxed I have been in months. Jade was right to bring me here. I absolutely adore this place.

I'm kind of disappointed that the brunette isn't back yet because I really want her presence. Looking at my phone, I realize she has already been gone for half an hour. She's probably just driving more slowly due to the rain.

Since I'll have to wait a little longer, I decide to start lighting a fire in the fireplace. The fire will only add to the cosy atmosphere and I can't wait to snuggle in front of it together with my Jadey.

When I'm done with the fire, Jade still hasn't arrived and I'm starting to get a little worried. The store isn't that far away, so she should be back by now, even if she's driving slow.

I look outside and the storm is still raging on. What if a tree fell on her car? Should I go looking for her?

After five more minutes, I start dressing. I'm wearing like five layers of clothing to keep myself warm, but when I open the front door, I'm still startled by the cold wind and heavy rain.

I start making my way down the road in the direction of the store, but I can barely see where I'm going in the darkness.

Suddenly a loud thunder rumbles through the sky and I regret my choice to come out here more and more. I am terrified of storms, like crying under my covers terrified.

I pick up my pace as if I can walk away from the storm. Soon, my jeans are absolutely soaked, but I don't even care at this point. I just need to find Jade and make sure she's okay.

She needs to be okay.

All of a sudden, I can see a dark figure lying on the road a few yards from me. I start running and stop in front of the figure that is now clearly a human.

I turn the body around and gasp at how pale the face is. There is some dried blood on the side of her head.

"Oh, Jade..." I quickly crouch down next to her and touch her face. She feels really cold.

When I look around, I can see no sign of the car, so I pick Jade up bridal style and start making my way back to the cottage.

By now, I can see the cottage, but my feet are barely moving. The cold, Jade's body in my arms and my anxiety make everything a lot more difficult.

I can feel my knees becoming weak and I'm scared I will collapse. But when I look down at the helpless brunette in my arms, I find my strength again and keep walking until we are inside.

I place Jade on the couch in front of the fireplace carefully. Okay, what do I do now?

Her body must be freezing by now, so the first thing I should probably do is get her warm again. I read somewhere that when someone is freezing, you can't just put them in a hot bath because the shock will be too big.

But what did they say you should do again? I'm racking my mind until it suddenly pops up in my head.

Body heat.

I quickly rid Jade of all her clothes except her underwear and do the same to myself before I wrap her in my arms on the couch and throw a blanket on top of us.

Her body feels cold against mine, but it's not freezing cold. That must mean something, right?

I softly stroke my girlfriend's cheek. "Come on, Jadey."

--

An hour has passed. An hour. Sixty minutes. And Jade still hasn't moved. "Come on, babe," I say as I start shaking her a little bit. No reaction.
