"Dia, baby! You're here early," Theresa, Aurora's mother, invited Diamant inside of her house. "It's not even," she looked down at her watch. "Nine yet."
"I had to meet with my personal trainer early this morning so I've been up for a while," she shrugged out of her sweater and placed it over the back of the couch.
"I don't know how you can get up and workout so early in the morning," Theresa poured some freshly brewed black coffee into a mug, knowing Diamant doesn't like anything in it, not even a little bit off milk or sugar.
"You get used to it," she shrugged. "And thank you," she accepted the coffee.
"No problem baby."
"Is there anything I can help you with?" Dia leaned back on the counter.
"Sure," Theresa tied an apron around her waist. "Aurora was supposed to come help me make breakfast for everybody, but I don't know where she's at."
"She didn't get home until really late last night, so she might have woken up late this morning," Diamant walked over to the sink to wash her hands so she could help whatever it was Theresa was in the middle of making.
"She overworks herself too much," Theresa shook her head. "I swear my daughter doesn't know when to take a break."
"True," Dia agreed. "But she actually loves what she does. So I'm not really sure it feels like work to her anymore."
"Mmhm... and I heard about your little talk with my daughter too."
"Which one?" Diamant just wanted to make sure they were on the same page, even though she already knew she was referencing Sage.
"Sage. She called me crying the other night saying how you were yelling at her and telling her a bunch of things she didn't particularly appreciate at the time."
"Oh, that... I'm sorry about that," Diamant looked up from the vegetables she was peeling and chopping up now. "I know it wasn't my place to say anything, but I—" she started to explain herself.
"Oh don't apologize," Theresa shook her head. "Sage needed to hear it. I was never fully on board with this whole baby thing, but the fact that she asked Aurora to take her child? Oh she's out of her damn mind."
"That's the same thing I said. Why would she ask Rora to take her baby when she already got so much going on in her own life right now."
"Sage seems to think you're the one being selfish though. She thinks you don't want Roro to take the baby because then she won't be spending as much time with you."
