"Why are you still on my back about a lil hi and bye? Ryan, bruh chill out," Aurora groaned.
She was standing in the mirror taking off all of her jewelry and Ryan, who had invited himself into her hotel room, was talking her ear off the whole time.
"I am chill. But why the fuck was you looking at Elizabeth like you ain't got a whole ass fiancé at home?"
"I know who I have at home. And I wasn't looking at her no kinda way. I was just shocked to see her again after all these years, that's it. You're reading too much into it."
"Nah, I don't think I am. You might try and hide shit from everyone else, but I know what really went down between y'all Ro. But it's been close to a decade since y'all last spoke, you needa let that shit go."
"I did let it go. A long ass time ago too," Aurora crossed her arms over her chest, now getting extremely annoyed with Ryan. "You're the one who's talking about her, not me. So maybe you should let it go."
"Fine," he held his hands up. "And I know nothing technically happened, but you needa tell Dia about tonight."
"I know," Aurora kicked off her custom Nike off-white dunks and sat down on the edge of the bed with her phone in her hand. "I was gonna tell her no matter what."
"Does she know about Elizabeth?"
"I've mentioned her before, yes. But she isn't someone we've spent a whole lot of time discussing."
"Does she know y'all were engaged at one point?" Ryan sat down next to her.
"We were never formally engaged. So no, why would I tell her that?"
"What exactly is a formal engagement? Y'all made plans to get married Ro. And y'all would have gotten married if her family didn't— yuh know," he whispered. "That sounds pretty damn formal to me."
"Can we please stop talking about this?" Aurora whispered.
"Okay.... But can I ask you sumn first?"
"Depends on what it is."
"Did you ever stop loving her? Even— even after everything that went down with her family?"
Aurora bit down on the inside of her bottom lip.
"I thought I did," she admitted, trying really hard to hold back almost ten years of emotions she's been suppressing about the entire situation. "Every year I thought about her less and less. Every year that pain of losing her to Jaylin gets smaller. So, I thought I was over it. I thought I was over her."
