Lexa shot out of her chair to grab Freya's wrist. Or Becca, I guess. I couldn't hear what she said to her but it caused her to glance back at the rest of us. Then Becca smiled at Lexa and told her, "She loved you. I promised she would see you again and now that you're here you're too late."
I could see Lexa trying to keep herself together. Becca, Gaia and Aden left leaving her to deal with the reality that Freya was gone. Not only was Freya gone but so was Anna. Two of my close friends.
"Lexa" I called out to her gently. I knew better than to approach her at the moment. Freya was the center of her world. I'm worried this will break her.
Suddenly, she went rigid with anger. "Leave me alone" she snarled yanking the door open. It slammed against the wall leaving an echo as she stormed out.
As I looked around the room everyone was still frozen in shock. Sighing I caught the door before it closed and looked down the hall. There was no sign of Becca or Freya but Lexa was wrapping her head in a cloth and practically running.
"Anna is gone. Freya is gone. What the hell have you been doing in this bunker?" Raven clenched her jaw as she asked. Her question seemed to go ignored as Octavia stood up and stepped to the side with Indra. Miller stared at Raven silently. "Hey!" Raven yelled banging her hands on the table. "Our friends are dead and you don't even care!" she yelled at Octavia.
I started to walk towards her when Emori grabbed her arm trying to pull her away from the table. "Blodreina has kept Wonkru alive! You do not understand what she has had to do in order to do that" Miller refuted, playing the role of the good soldier.
Raven jumped against Emori's hold on her. "She sent Anna to her death and probably killed Freya herself" she spat angrily.
Murphy grabbed the mechanic and started dragging her towards the door. "Raven we'll get to the bottom of this, okay?" I said as Murphy and Emori removed her from the room.
Indra stepped froward, "Miller make sure she gets to the other side of the territory without drawing more attention to herself." He nodded and left without another word. Then Indra turned back to Bellamy and I across the table. "I am sure this new information is a shock but Blodreina has kept Wonkru alive by any means necessary" she said.
"What is the current population?" Bellamy asked crossing his arms.
Octavia stepped up to where Indra was standing near the table. Lincoln followed her closely and hesitantly set his hand on her back. When Octavia made no move to acknowledge him he dropped his hand. "There are six hundred and forty one members in Wonkru. Trikovakru's population remains unknown" she answered.
Only six hundred people? "How can there only be that many when the bunker housed a thousand five hundred and sixty to begin with?" I asked confused. That would mean over eight hundred people are dead or a part of Trikovakru.
"The bunker has been on the edge of a war for years. Trikovakru is lucky they haven't been completely erased" Octavia stated spitefully.
"How can you not have an idea on Trikovakru's population?" Bellamy asked.
Octavia glared and crossed her arms. "Cross the boundary and you die it doesn't matter who you are! You are lucky the bomb you triggered was only a scare tactic aimed at my people. I did you a favor by allowing Gaia and the others to cross so you could speak with them. There will be no further contact" she seethed.
A pit grew in my stomach at the idea of being cut off from Freya again. Even if it isn't truly her in there it's still her body. She looks exactly like the sarcastic fighter I knew from the drop ship. And I can't help but believe she's still in there somewhere. However, after Freya almost not waking up from the city of light I think there's some truth to Becca's story. To anyone who hadn't spent time with Lexa would think that she's managing with the new well. But I can see she is devastated and she knew Freya possibly better than Anna did.
