Freya
I listened to the rhythm my fingers drummed against the table. Anxieties swirled in my gut so I drummed louder. Where is Lexa? I know I have no perception of time but this feels like too long. Did something happen to her? I just got clarity. I stopped my drumming abruptly and instead chewed on my thumb nail. There had to be a way out. I could change the location but I felt safest in our bedroom. I need to talk to Lexa. Did I scare her off?
Just then the door swung open and hit the frame with a thud. My attention snapped in its direction. "Lexa" I gasped, practically throwing the chair as I got up. She was wearing those tight dark pants and her armor. "Where have you been? I thought something might have happened" I sighed as I finally reached her. I fell into her arms and pulled her close. "I'm just happy you came back. You have to help me get out of here" I whispered into her neck. I relaxed with the smell of her hair and the feeling of her in my arms.
Her chest rumbled with a low laugh. I frowned, she never laughed like that. Suddenly, she yanked me backwards by my hair and pined me to the ground. The move was fast and practiced. An angry glint in her eye.
"Ow hey what the hell was that?" I snapped, attempting to lightly push her arms away but they wouldn't give. "Lexa?" I questioned. Something was wrong.
Lexa was gone in the blink of an eye. Her face replaced with Bekka's. "Hello Freya" Bekka said. Within another blink her clothes changed. She looked more like the people on the ark. Bekka's eyes rolled back as she grinned. "You feel that tugging in your head? Well that's how I can do this" she said, blocking my hand. "And this" she bent my wrist back and held it.
I groaned unable to pull my wrist free. She's never been able to do this before. What the hell is going on? I hadn't noticed before but it did feel like I was on the verge of a headache. "Bekka, you have to let me go. It's my body. Lexa's alive. I'm suppose to be with her" I tried to keep from resorting to anger right away. Even though I wanted to bash her face into the floor.
Bekka let out a hardy laugh this time. "I'm afraid that's just not possible. Not once I have everything in here" she said, tapping the side of my head.
Screw it. I jabbed her in the ribs with my free fist and rolled out from under her as she yelped. I shot to my feet before she could truly register it and I kicked her in the face. Bekka didn't crumble exactly like I thought she would. So I grabbed the collar of her shirt with both hands. "Listen you crazy bitch. Your time is over so stop this before you really get hurt" I spat.
Bekka blinked and grinned wide enough to show her teeth. "How are you going to fight yourself, Freya?" She brought her elbows up and slammed them down on my arms.
I recoiled with a groan. Somehow she disappeared. I didn't even see her move. The door slammed behind my back. A moment later Bekka's laugh echoed. If this is how she wants to play it I wasn't going to take it easy. This ends now. I ripped through the door and into a bright room.
It felt like the ark but newer. The metal floor was pristine and had to levels. Tables all around the room were piled with equipment and gadgets. Things Raven would understand. I gave a quick glance out the window to see the black star filled sky. I walked slowly, looking for Bekka hiding somewhere. "Come out, Bekka" I called.
"You can feel it can't you? All that knowledge" her voice came from across the room. I ran towards it. Looking for her behind a locker. "I mean I had access to a lot of your mind before but this is just perfect" she purred. This time it came from the other side. "All these techniques daddy taught you. He really did give you the perfect survival gift" she added. It was in yet another area.
I knocked everything off one of her tables with a swipe of my arm. "Quit playing these games and face me, coward!" I yelled.
This time as she spoke it bounced off the walls, "uh uh Freya you won't get me out that easily." It was followed up by more laughter. "Ya know once you're gone, I'll have to pay your girlfriend a visit. Ugh Lexa can be so annoying. She did do a good job softening up your mind for me though. It's a shame she'll have to die" she said.
