Lexa
I stood up as the streak in the sky got brighter, "A meteor?" At least I think that is what Clarke said they were when she talked about living in space.
"What is meteor again?" Madi asked uncrossing her legs and standing up.
"It's a rock falling from space and entering the atmosphere" Clarke told her. She titled her head taking a few steps around the fire, "Whatever it is it's going to land near here."
It doesn't look like its going to land in the middle of our small village so I'm not entirely concerned. "We should check it out" I said bending down to pick up my sword. I fastened it to my belt and turned to Clarke.
She nodded, "Let's go."
I set my hand on the youngest's shoulder, "Go inside."
"No, I wanna come with you guys" she protested.
"Madi, listen to Lexa. We'll be back soon" Clarke told her strictly. Madi groaned but did as she was told and headed to the cabin. She took her gun from her belt and checked how many bullets she had. She had offered several times to show me how to shoot but I still refused. We started following the path of the streak as it got closer to earth. Outside of the village Clarke followed me through the trees. "Wait wait" the blonde called out.
I came to a stop at the tree line before the hill. "That doesn't look like a rock, could it be your friends?" I asked as it got closer to landing. Fire shot out of the bottom of it. As it landed there was a loud boom. We jumped behind trees just in time. The warmth from it flowed through the forest.
Clarke stepped out from behind the tree first. I watched as her eyes grew wide at what she saw. "I thought they didn't make it to the ark. It's been so long" she whispered.
She shoved her gun in her belt and ran out of the tree line. "Wait Clarke" I shouted. With a groan I ran after her for back up. Freya and Clarke have talked about the drop ship but was this doesn't look like what I saw land in my forest years ago.
Just before she could reach the ship I grabbed her arm yanking her back. The machine let out a loud hiss. "Get back" I drew my sword stepping in front of her. The door cracked open letting out an even louder hiss as air rushed out.
Suddenly it was kicked open for the door to bang against the metal of the machine. I scowled prepared to attack. "Raven!" Clarke gasped stepping out from behind me.
"Clarke?" the vaguely familiar girl looked shocked to see the blonde. She hopped out of the machine to wrap her arms around Clarke. I relaxed my stance and sheathed my sword. "We thought -I thought you were dead" Raven said holding Clarke at arms length to examine her.
I stepped to the side as more climbed out of the ship. Bellamy was the next to hug her. "Commander?" the last to exit the ship questioned. It caused everyone else to look in my direction. Then they turned to look at Clarke.
Lincoln looked different than I last saw him. He had medium length hair that was braided tight to his head and a short stubble beard. "You were dead" he frowned.
I gripped the arm the he held out, "Not quite."
"This way" Clarke pointed over her shoulder towards the village. The group followed her with Lincoln and I trailing behind.
It was good to see someone I knew come out of that ship. Especially since he will be a huge help with uncovering the hatch. Octavia was in there waiting for him. We walked silently for a few minutes, the group many yards ahead. "Commander, I need to extend my apology to you for leaving you behind" he said regretfully.
