Wind's POV
"Jump." The words barely left Sky's mouth before he jumped off the edge.
We scattered, trying to escape the flames. Time followed after Sky. Legend grabbed Hyrule's hand and jumped off as well.
After a few seconds Wars and I were left. I was nervous. I knew this was the only way to escape the mechanical monster, but, who wants to voluntarily jump off a cliff? Other then Sky?
Warriors saw my hesitation and reached out a hand. I grabbed it. I squeezed his hand as I saw how far down the ground was. I couldn't have not imagined Wars wincing at that... could I?
Warriors led me to the edge and jumped with me in toll.
The wind whistled last my ears, deafening all oncoming sound. Warriors' long blue scarf snapped in the wind behind him.
Below us, near the ground I saw Sky reflexively untie his sailcloth from around his neck and held it above his head.
Sky's fall was slowed dramatically and the chosen hero landed gently on his feet.
Twilight grabbed onto a nearby branch. It was surprisingly sturdy enough to hold the Rancher. Twilight caught Four as he fell past. The two sat there for a moment, swinging in the breeze, before Twi's branch snapped and they fell to the floor.
Time fell like a rock due to all his armor. He landed in a second tree. His hair and armor decorated with leaves and twigs.
Legend landed in a roll and then turned around to catch Hyrule in his arms.
I regretfully let go of Wars' hand and whipped out my deku leaf.
I kicked Warriors in the side and let him grab onto my ankle. Unfortunately, the added weight put too much strain on my leaf.
The wind poked holes in said leaf, so that our landing turned into less of a crash into a rough landing.
Warriors yelped when we landed. Gripping his ankle.
Twilight and Legend help Time out of the tree. Said hero clutched his wrist, his hand bent at a weird angle.
We regrouped and set up camp where we were, at the foot of a giant man-made cliff.
Hyrule went around and treated everyone's various injuries.
Thankfully, they weren't very severe.
Time had sprained his wrist, Wars fractured his ankle, and Four had a mild concussion (from falling from the tree and onto his head.). Everyone else had scratches or bruises, nothing to use a fairy or red potion on.
We sat around the campfire, Time, Warriors, and Four favoring their injuries. (Although Wars seemed to be favoring his sword arm as well...)
Twilight took on the role of cool for the night. Hopefully he would make something that was actually edible. Unlike Hyrule.
Twilight knew a really good soup recipe, but could only make it when we were in his Hyrule since it involves a fish only found near his Zora's Domain. And of course, ordon cheese and a ordon pumpkin.
Soon it was dark.
I was about to go to sleep when I heard a strange noise. Footsteps, coming this way!
I looked around everyone else had heard it too.
We stood in a offensive stance with our weapons out. Fi glowed softly in the night.
Finally, a traveler stepped into the light of our fire.
"Oh!" Time said, surprised. He lowered his biggoron sword. We followed his example. But was it just me or... did Fi's glow become more like a warning?
Sky's face paled at what Fi had to say. I was confused and turned my attention back to the conversation.
"What brings you here?" Time asked, probably trying to find out why in the name of Hylia someone was traveling at night.
"Oh just..., searching." She said.
"Searching? For what?" Time asked. "We can help you if you need any help."
The woman smiled gently at him. "Thank you! Now, i'm actually looking for a person. He has a blue tunic, a dark blue hood, long blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and burn scars on the entire left side of his face. Also, his name is Link."
I looked around at the others. We have a new brother! I tried to muffle my visible excitement.
"Link..." Time mused. The woman nodded. "Do you know where he is?"
"Right behind you." A voice called out.
The woman turned to face the voice with a hiss. An arrow had sprouted from her shoulder.
In a cloud of orange smoke and cards and laughter, the woman turned from your average traveler, into a dude wearing a red skin-tight suit, and a white mask with the upside down symbol of the Sheikah.
He held a curved sickle. He charged into the darkness in the direction of the voice.
I heard muffled shouts and the clanging of metal before the dude jumped back to his starting point and disappeared in a cloud of orange smoke and cards. Leaving behind bananas and rupees.
Legend was about to grab them when Time stopped him. "It's not for us." He said simply.
As if on cue a second stranger stepped into the light and gathered what was left behind.
He fit the attackers description of this world's Link perfectly. He placed the bananas and rupees into a thin glowing rectangular box with the Sheikah eye on the back.
When he looked up he had piercing blue eyes.
Time recovered from the shock of seeing another spirit of the hero the fastest.
"Thank you." He said. "I'm sorry we couldn't have been of more help, we aren't exactly from around here."
The boy—who looked about 18–studied our unofficial leader with suspicion. As if he might also be another one of those weirdos.
"What was he?" I tried to ask.
The new Link backed away and until he was completely engulfed in darkness.
