Wild's POV

I kept my eyes trained ahead, ignoring the people behind me.

The heroes where talking to each other, laughing as if they didn't have a care in the world.

Wind was complaining about how long the journey was. Saying that it was much simpler to travel by boat.

Legend and Warriors where bickering good naturally. (If that makes sense.)

Twilight was alert. I don't think he was looking for monsters. He kept whispering something about something called 'Epona'.

Four seemed like he was having a mental argument. His eyes flashing either blue, red, purple, or green.

Sky and Hyrule were marveling at my Hyrule's beauty from their spot near the back.

And Time was riding close to me, smiling gently at everyone's antics.

How could I ever fit into this group?

The Champions seemed to know what I was thinking, like always.

Mipha placed her non-existent hand on my shoulder. "Of course you can fit in. You're one of them."

I avoided her gaze.

Urbosa stepped in front of my horse, making me look at her.

Adira snorted but did nothing else. It was always like she could sense the ghosts.

"Don't beat yourself up." The Gerudo Champion scolded. "Why don't you think you aren't one of them? You're a hero are you not?"

I felt someone's gaze and looked back to see Wind. He seemed to not be looking at me, but at the champions. But... I'm the only one who can see them.

I looked back at Urbosa.

"They succeeded in saving Hyrule." I whispered. "I didn't."

The Champions scoffed at my words.

"What do they mean they didn't?!" Revali protested to no one in particular before turning to me. "Look around. Hyrule's still standing. Ganon's not. You saved us. You saved everyone and everything."

I sighed dejectedly. But before I could say anything else, Twilight trotted up beside me.

Twilight seemed familiar to me. His brilliant blue eyes especially. But I would've remembered him.

Twilight carried himself like he had grown up on horseback. But he seemed a bit awkward on Buttercup. Wind was seated behind him.

"You okay?" Twilight asked.

I nodded gloomily.

Twilight could tell I was lying, but didn't pry.

"Hey, Wild?" Wind asked curiously. "We saw a weird robot"—I stiffened—"but we don't know what it was. Do you?"

All other conversations stopped. Everyone turned to me.

The Champions looked at me in pity as I squirmed under their gazes.

"You don't have to tell us." Time said, noticing my discomfort.

I shook my head. It was alright.

I dropped the reins and raised my hand to sign.

'What you saw was a Guardian.' Twilight translated for everyone. "What's a Guardian?" Wind asked.

I saw, out of the corner of my eye, Sky stiffen.

'A Guardian is a mechanical monster. It was created by the Sheikah tribe to combat the Calamity, but Ganon took control of them and the Divine Beasts when he awakened.' I informed them.

Twilight smiled a little when he translated 'Divine Beasts'. He also blushed a little.

If he was the hero of Twilight, than the Divine Beasts were named after him. Since the history books call him the, 'Divine Beast'.

Though they aren't really clear as to why he was called that. Most say it was because he could turn into some kind of animal.

But that's not possible.

"The 'Calamity'?" Legend asked.

I nodded, using my hands to momentarily fix Adira's path.

'Calamity Ganon. He rose 100 years ago and destroyed Hyrule.'

"What about the hero?" Four asked me.

I hesitated, but was saved from having to answer by Legend. Which wasn't a good thing.

"He obviously wasn't good enough. He was a coward if he ran."

I held on to the 'if'.

"But..." Warriors spoke up. "He could've also been a hero who fought to the last breath."

"Yes." Daruk said. "That's what happened Little Guy. You never give up. Even back then."

Everyone lapsed into silence as they undoubtedly contemplated the hero's possible actions and ending.
