Hyrule's POV

Everyone has a different magic signature.

Time's sounds like an ocarina, and yet it feels dangerous, like a panther preparing to strike.

Legend's is loud and busy, it's always doing something, always trying to connect to anything and everything around it.

Twilight's is dark and shadowy. It sounds mournful and cries an unfamiliar tune in an unfamiliar tongue.

Warriors' is stoic and still, but energetic and curious. But it always feels like it's mixed with a fairy magic signature as well, bubbly with a gentle song following.

Wind's carries the smell of the great sea. It brushes past everything, but sticks to Wind loyally.

Four's magic signature changes with each Color change.

Blue's is red and angry but covering a sweet tune that is muffled, but still there.

Red's is bubbly and excited. It sings energetically and can be a bit of a nuisance when I have a headache.

Vio's is still but absolutely loves jokes. It lets out a sound like laughter whenever one is told.

Green's is shy and curious, it smells of cinnamon and does nothing wrong.

Sky's is everywhere. It can't stay still, like said hero and his ADHD.

I can't tell what my own is, however.

But I can tell you that Wild's magic signature has changed.

When we first met him, it was shy and secluded, it gave off no sound or smell. Just opting to curl in on its self and shy away from other signatures.

But ever since he went with Twi and Ledge to the former's Hyrule, it's changed.

Now, it's happy and sings constantly. It cares for others and clumped around Sky, Four, and Time when they were injured after the Lynel attack.

But now it was missing.

I watched it lean back sadly, taking the non- corporeal form of a fox, chittering as Wild flew away.

Legend's signature formed a pink rabbit with its ears flattened sadly as it reached a paw out.

Twilight's signature looked like a dark wolf, leaning back, ears pressed against skull, and howled it's mournful song.

Time's was now a gold wolf, standing on all four legs, towering above them all with a red eye.

That's one other thing signatures can do.

Sometimes, when the person is feeling a really strong emotion, or is using magic, it shares the form of their soul.

That's how I know Twilight's Wolfie. But I'll respect his wishes and keep quiet.

...Even though it might be more polite to tell the Rancher that I know... right?

But then I'll have to tell him all about the magic signatures, and it's just a whole thing.

But right now, we needed to get off this tower. And follow Wild-whose-nickname-we-have-not-yet-decided.

Time led us in hopping down from pedestal to pedestal that wrapped theirselves around the tower.

I winced every time Legend landed, watching his right ankle.

Finally, Time stopped.

But we weren't at the bottom. I looked up to find something that we must all of just noticed, if the groans were anything to go by.

The tower was sticking out of a swamp, stretching for too far in many directions.

The only way down was to climb down four toppled stone pillars—probably by Wild when he first climbed up—and then we would have to figure it out ourselves.

"Fuck."

"Wind! Language!"
