Wild's POV

I soared through the burning air. But I couldn't feel it. I couldn't feel anything right now.

Gerudo Town slowly came into focus.

The wind whipped away my tears before the heat could.

I landed in a crouch before running onto my feet. My feet skidded before I managed a firm grip. I sprinted toward the town gates.

I pulled out my slate mid-sprint and in a flash of blue, I was wearing my Gerudo Vai outfit.

A warped sound signaled the appearance of Wolfie.

He easily kept pace with me, ignoring the sand blowing and getting caught in his fur.

"Little Vai!" Dorrah called from the entrance.

I wiped my tears and used my free hand to wave. I gave her a gentle smile. But I don't think she bought it.

Even under her veil, I could see the Gerudo's disappointed frown.

"Who caused your tears, young one?" Dorrah asked.

I shook my head. "They didn't. They only care about what happens to me. I just... I just need some time alone."

Dorrah nodded her head, even though I could tell she was angry. "Come on in then. I'm sure Riju would be more than pleased to see you again. It's been four months since you were last seen."

Four months?

The realization struck me as I walked toward the town. Stupid time travel.

"Hey sweetheart!" The most annoying Voe ever to walk the earth called.

I steeled my anger and turned to face Bozai who was approaching.

The Gerudo guards readied their weapons. But I signaled them to stop.

I had an idea.

As Bozai came closer, I lifted both middle fingers as I walked backward into a town he will never be able to enter.

The sound of clanging spears and the rumbling laughter of the Gerudo as I strode proudly into the place I like to call; Home.

Wolfie trotted lightly beside me. Amusement shone in his eyes as he gave the wolf equivalent of a smile.

I missed my friend so much. I can't wait to tell Zelda about how I found him. And it would lead to me telling her about my time-traveling mishap. Which would lead to her scolding me, even though I had nothing to do with it.

The Gerudo ladies greeted me warmly.

Aisha was walking out in front of her shop. She smiled brightly at us as we approached.

"Hey Link!" Aisha gasped. "You found Wolfie! We're was he?"

She asked with genuine curiosity and relief. I already knew how everyone I met would kill whoever dare hurt me. And when Wolfie disappeared, I was upset and they were mad.

"He was deep within the Lost Woods." It wasn't a lie. He was just not in this time.

Aisha shook her head sadly. "The best of us have gotten lost in there."

"But I found him," I beamed, ruffling Wolfie's fur. Much to his displeasure.

Aisha brightened. "I made something for you!"

"What?" I asked excitedly. I loved Aisha's accessories. She is so good at chipping the gem just the right way, and using her magic from her father's side (Hylian) to enhance the gem's natural magic.

The Gerudo who I've come to see as an Aunt, held up on finger, a smile crossing her face. Then, she turned on her heel and all but ran inside.

Another thing I admire her for; being able to run in high heels.

A minute or two later, Aisha re-emerged, holding a velvet box as if it carried her future.

"Here," she handed it to me, leaning down ever so slightly. "happy Champion's day."

Questions swirled at that statement, but Aisha nodded for me to open the box before they could be verbalized.

I lifted the top off gently.

And saw the most beautiful sapphire bracelet I've ever seen.

Steel wiring intertwined many small, individual pieces of sapphire. But pieces of other gems shone here and there, ruby, diamond, opal, a strange purple gem dominated what I guess is the front.

"This is... gorgeous!" I said, at a loss for a better word.

Aisha gushed. "It's nothing. That purple stone, by the way, is called an amethyst. It was brought in by some merchants by a neighboring country. I just had to buy it."

"What properties does it have?" I asked, slipping it on. It fit perfectly and didn't slide too much, but also wasn't too tight.

"Well," Aisha started. "the merchant said it had none. Then laughed in my face, saying no gem does. Apparently their country has no magic. Anyway, I used some spells I learned from my father, and learned that it's a sort of enhancer. It makes other magic stronger."

"Cool." I said, glancing down to look at the beautiful purple stone that some merrily on my wrist.

"I thought that if you learn to harness its magic, you can use it on your adventures." The older Gerudo said. "Well, you can use it much more than I can."

I looked up, beaming. "Thanks."

Now, I'm not much for physical touch, but I found myself launching my arms around Aisha.

"It's beautiful," I murmured into her embrace.

"Now," she said after some time, pulling away. "you need a certain Gerudo Chieftess to explain things too, right?"

"Riju!" I exclaimed, jumping away, already halfway in a run. "I completely forgot! Thank you! Talk to you later!"

Aisha laughed and waved as I ran through the plaza. Other Gerudo against the walls cried out for me.

"Little Vai! Slow down!"

"If you fall, you'll give this old lady a heart attack!"

"See you later Link!"

I took the stairs two or three at a time, nodded once at the guards who seemed to be holding back laughs, and entered the throne room.

Skidding to a stop before the girl I care for like a sister.
