Chapter 24

Rhys's POV

How did I got myself into such situation?

Currently , I was in my human attire with Oscar by my side while our current location was in her off-fice and she was busy with her fabric cutting , while I got stared at some female humans where some of them was legit drooling on the cloth.

"Rhys , get over here."

Looked at her who was raising a piece of dark purple cloth in her hand , I obeyed her words as she legit be annoyed by me walking too slow , she grabbed me by the vest , pulling towards her while her hand swiftly lifted my chin up and placed the cloth on my dark brown skin.

This small yet intimidating action of hers , eventually earned some high pitched squeals , similar to the ones we heard when we first arrived Ear-th.

Simply with a deadly glare from Oscar , the humans looked away as she simply scoffed and continued her work. I looked at her seriousness towards work and also the attention I have received from the humans.

Did the green eyed monster emerged within her?

Curious , I questioned her as she simply laughed and claimed that the humans were annoying.

"Their squeals annoyed me much. The world should have this phobia of fangirl squeals. Plus , they're on working times , within the seconds doing the staring competition with a random guy in the office, they could've design one or more outfits."
"It wasn't the green-eyed monster , was it?"
She seemed distracted when I asked that question , and it was proven when the adjustable dagger in her hand sliced her skin , forming a small yet blood dripping scar.

"I-I'm sorry if I crossed the line , Oscar. I didn't meant to distract you."
"Relax , Icey , it's just a scar. Now you stay here as I head over and patch myself up. You can be a good boy , couldn't you?~"
She cooed as she patted and ruffled my hair. Even treating like a pet of hers , I find her affection was intimidating , so I nodded slightly as she walked off , leaving me with those menacingly staring humans in the same room.

"Hey there charming fella~"
I turned my neck to find a female human dressed in a red dress with a leather jacket and red heels. Her eyes reflected with my face , as she moved closer to me.

"Why don't we spend some time alone since your little girlfriend was not here?~"
Girlfriend?
Since when?
Since when Oscar was my girlfriend?
All I did was just spending some time with her , telling her a lot of stuff and sometime unconsciously staring into her eyes-

"I-I believe there's a misunderstanding between us , miss. Oscar and I were never a thing."
"Oh , so you're free to be taken?~ Absolutely great news~"
The female human said flirtatiously as her hand placed on mine.

"Miss , apparently your actions were irritating. Please , stay away from me."
"Excuse me? It was Oscar who was being a little prick around. Look what a fine specimen are you , such a shame being around such nasty tomboy-"

"Got an issue on me being a tomboy , Blondie?"
Jumped by Oscar's sudden voice , she turned her back to Oscar who had her hands on her hips and her eyes were dead and aggressive.

"N-Nothing , just having a conversation with this charming fella~"
"Warn you one last time , blond one. He was my accompany , not a doll for you break his heart. I shall remind that you're still fooling the Nth man. You're really sick you know?"
Oscar said as she pulled the female human's wrist away from mine.

"Please , such fine specimen like him , was just for a fine woman like me. You're nothing but a tomboy dressed woman who was adopted from the Langford family."
The female human said as she pulled her wrist out from Oscar's grasp.

"What's so bad about Oscar? She's fine for me."
I cut off the conversation between the two. I'm unsure if I said something wrong, but Oscar was now looking with widened eyes and the woman was just enraged and walked off quickly.

"Are you alright , Rhys?"
Next second , Oscar turned to me with worries upon her face. She grabbed me tightly by the arm. I quickly claimed to be alright as Oscar quickly let go and claimed , "We should be going." As she said , she grabbed the bags of cloth from the ground and walked off. Worried , I catch up to her quickly.

In our quick walking session , she was being simply remained silent as her paces was just speeding up. It's hard for me to catch up with her , it's finally got onto my nerve as I grabbed her by the hand , and questioned her ignorance.

"Why are you simply ignoring me , Oscar? Did I do something that angered you?"
"Nothing , just being typically enraged."
She said as she swiped her hand from mine , turned away and continued walking across the empty streets.

As she walked in the middle of the street , a huge metal like vehicle ran towards her. Panicked , I rushed towards with my arms hold onto her waist as I jumped towards the other side of the street and fall onto the ground harshly.

Second person's POV

"Rhys , what the he-"
Oscar looked up and find a lorry speeding across the road. She stunned by the scene as she looked up to Rhys who pinned her against the rocky road.

"A-Are you alright?"
"You....saved me?"
"I can't just be a bystander."
She looked at the demon in shock as she was pulled up by Rhys with ease. Noticed purple blood stains on her arm , she grabbed Rhys's hand and find some small scars.

"You're bleeding."
"We should get to the other side first." Rhys said as he took her hand and walked to the other side of the street. Frustrated by Rhys's ignorance , she pulled her satchel open , pulling a pair of handy green scissors , cutting off her white right sleeve.

Shocked by the human's antics , Rhys panicked for a second. Until she grabbed his wrist and bandaged his bleeding palm , only he realised he was injured and she was healing him.

"I-I didn't even noticed."
"You should. Plus , it was my fault you were brought into this."
Oscar said with her eyes reflected with sadness. Rhys noticed as he lifted her head and placed a soft caress on her bangs covered forehead.

"It's fine , Oscar , I'm fine. There's nothing needed to be worried and felt guilty of. As long you're alright , I would felt safe already."
Rhys smiled gently as Oscar have her head buried under the demon's chest. Finding the action adorable , he patted her head , before returning to the base with the human.

"Where the actual hell you two be- Why was Rhys injured?!"
Ava screamed as Oscar rolled her eyes and answer all her questions in a nick of time.

"Office. A speeding lorry , he saved me and got injured." Oscar said as she walked into her room with the bags of cloth that surprisingly survived from the harsh fall to the ground earlier.

"You alright , Rhys?"
"Yes , Ava. Oscar patched me up with one of her cut off sleeves."
As Rhys claimed , Ava looked at Oscar's revealed arm and just realised the changes. She actually thought it was a style of fashion from Oscar.

"Wait , you never go to the office."
"I went there because of the stupid family that held a party back home. I needed to restock my supplies and also get your outfits right. So not going to shame me."
Oscar said with a proud tone , but deep inside , Rhys knew , she cared about them. From her mouth , he knew that she hated her family and she will prove her life has gone better.

Through threads and strings
Through every little that was measured by her
Through every piece of cloth

She can let them know , she was doing better than ever.
