Chapter 3

Rhys's POV

Leif.... He's acting suspicious lately...

Whenever we brought up the topic of humans , he would be seemed nervous and blushing...? I have no idea with him but it was seriously suspicious.

"Leif."
After a quick meeting with Asch , I called out his name , even placing my hand on his shoulder , gaining some attention from him.

But his reaction was nothing but jumped and even pulled out his double sickles as if there was some enemies behind him.

"Oh Rhys , gee, stop scaring me for once."
"I have not. But your actions were rather suspicious than the days before. You have not bring up any of your stupid ideas today. What's gotten into you?"

"Hey , that's rude you know? Besides , I have not being suspicious or...." I tilted my head confusingly as I was soon dragged into the library by himself ,he proceeded by placing his hands on my shoulder.

"Was it that.... that obvious?"
"Leif? You were acting weirdly just now. What's wrong?"
I looked at his teal colour eyes looking around his surroundings as he seemed panicked others would heard him.

"Promise me... not to tell anyone?..."
"Just spilled it out."

Leif's POV

Curiosity kill the demon huh?

Well , for their information , this Daemos was not fear of death! Neither does their little threats!

Night remained on Ear-th as I rose from bed , dressed in my Daemos attire as I phased out of my room , preventing any noises , waking up Asch.

After phasing out of the castle , I found what I always wanted to know.

Whatever was behind that door of the human...

I smirked as I phased in front of the door , ensuring myself was invisible before entering the human's room.

With a snap of a finger , I gain my bravery as I phased into the room and was surprised with what was revealed upon me.

A bed that was placed right to the window was divided from the spaces as a table was found by the wall with a white piece of metal and some yellow colour stick like weapon.

On the walls , there was papers of human drawing where they were dressed in different varieties of outfits. Also there was seemingly mission like papers. Does they take orders from someone?

Bookshelves were found as there were several trophies and books on the platform , along with some tiny teapots but with soil and plants.

I walked slowly towards the bed as I found the human snoring silently by the bed. The moonlight shined upon their faces as it revealed how appealing they actually looked.

As I gotten closer to take a greater look , a buzzing sound happened as it made me bumped into one of the shelves and a book dropped.

The human jumped up from bed , looking around their place , seemingly like a beast that was filled with hunger. But instead of walking down from their bed , they grabbed the phone by the bed , groaning and mumbled about something as they have reached to their closet , grabbing a white collar shirt and black pants.

They then begun to strip off their clothes , as they have no idea that I'm here. I begun panicked uet embarrassed as I have decided to run away but that scene...

Are they... a.... a..

No... Don't jump to conclusions that quickly , Leif.... They could've been just males who also wears those corsets to train their torso.... Just... get out of here...

After phasing out from the chamber , I felt relieved yet nervous. Damn.... I must not tell Asch about this.... since it just revealed that I defined his orders , along with Ava's....

"Leif! You know we weren't meant to enter the chamber!"
"Hey , you promised me not to be angry!"

"Too bad I don't make any promises with you."
"Well , apparently you have to cause you know my secrets."

Rhys pinched the bridge of his nose as he turned back to me. "Now , what do you want us to do? If we asked Ava , she will be in rage with us since YOU disobeyed her rules." He asked as he crossed his arms.

"Why don't we found the truth for ourselves?"
"By going into their chamber , I will pass , Leif." He denied as he walked to one of the under arranging process bookshelves.

"You're no fun , man."
"No fun it is , I am not risking our lives into that human's chamber. Don't you see how they put you in place with that powerful magic of theirs?" I eyerolled as he mentioned about that embarrassing moment once more. That incident could've ruin my reputation as one of the members of the secret assassin group.

"You know what? Just... Just 1 degree of the Sun. 1 degree , then we're getting out from their room. Whether we found the truth or not."
I secretly smirked as I finally dragged this bag of knowledge boy into the hole with me.

Rhys's POV

I have no idea should I be regretting by my mistakes. But....

"I know right?! This was so much amazing than the scenario in the dark!"

The room was mainly painted in white , along with shades of grey and black. Things Leif describes before this was all correct. Well , at least...

There's a bottle of white liquid that was filled in a fancy shaped glass standing on the table. I slowly picked it up , pulling it away from my nose as a very , extreme strong scent just came out of nowhere.

"Hey , I saw one of those before. Aren't those perfume that Princess Ava uses?"
I turned to Leif as he looked towards me while snatching the bottle from my hand.

"Princess Ava? Using these strong scented solvent? For what?"
"She mentioned it's either for female humans to attract males or self-defence. I believe it's more like a weapon."

I stared at him quietly.
"You gotten sprayed in the eye?"
"Can't blame me for scaring her from behind right?"
He shrugged it off , as I just shook my head.

"If it's so , then.... what gender were they?"
"Seriously , that question only gotten into your bones so badly?"

"I know right , I was also curious with the reason why are you two here?~"
