Chapter 10

Rhys's POV

"Ah , here you go , Oscar , two chocolate ice cream with another extra scoop of vanilla ice cream. All in a cone!"
Alfonso stated as he reached the two ice cream towards us.

We said thanks by the same time as we reached out to the ice cream. But by coincidence , I grabbed the same one which Oscar's hand reached towards too , making us touching each other's skin.

"Oh hehe... You take that."
They stated as they quickly swiped the another one from Alfonso's grasp.
"It's on the house , no worries! Blame Oscar for being one of my friends."
"You're really a joker..." Oscar rolled their eye as they said their goodbyes to him then walked to a seat by the corner.

The scene was awkward silent as we were just eating our ice cream while watching humans passing by on the streets.

I looked at Oscar who seemed distracted as I noticed their ice cream was slowly melting down. I moved my chair next to them as I waved my hand in front of their face , calling out their names like they just did earlier.

As they snapped out of their deep thoughts , they eventually jumped from their seat , causing the ice cream to fell on the ground.

They gave a sad glare to the ice cream as they sighed in sadness.

"A-Ah , sorry , didn't mean to startle you..."
"It's fine , I don't feel like it anyways. Tell me , Rhys."
I looked at her dark brown eyes that was blocked behind her glaoses , tilting my head by confusion.

"About your....little colony. I need to know more about it , since it was not possible for a nation to just popped out of nowhere." They placed the clenched fist on their cheekbone.

"It's... quite complicated.... Where should I start this... Daemos don't just popped out of nowhere. We do have several gods that we prayed and admired. Mostly was Goddess Ocellus. Since... she restore magic and quite the founder." I explained as they seemed quite interested with it....

"Go on , I'm listening."
I flinched by their sudden voice as I continued.

I told them the importance of magic and the landscape of Daemos as they hummed in every single details and facts. I also told them the temples of the Goddess and the ceremonies, which was received with the same respond from them.

"What about you , Oscar?"
"Hm?" They looked at me with their confused face.
"Tell me something about you. I know to get more information of you , like you now know so much detail of Daemos."
She coughed softly as she stood up , saying that they shall be back for work and walked away as the switch of topic.

I looked at her walked away figure , seemingly confused...

Why do they not want to talk about themselves?...
Why do they turned their backs and just left me without any information?...
What are they hiding?....

I snapped out of my thoughts as I found Meena with one of her hands in her pockets , patting my shoulder with her hand. "Eh... sorry... i-if you're busy with something , but O-Oscar wants you to be there now...."

I looked behind her , found Oscar who seems annoyed for me dragging their time. I thanked her as I stood up from my seat and rushed towards them.

After hours of work , they finally done with their work in their hands as they brought me back upstairs through the elevator. They seemed exhausted with all of that bending and drawing on a piece of fabric.

I moved their head as I let them rest on my head for a short while. They looked at me as they quickly pushed me away. Only for a few seconds as we reached the floor above us.
