If anyone would've asked Itachi what he was doing here he wouldn't know what to tell them.
Was he going to beg for forgiveness of his oh so very horrible sins that he committed?
Was he going to complete the mission the Akatsuki assigned him?
Was he going to hurt his little brother again?
The love of his life?
The love of his little brother's life?
He had a lot of options to choose from and he didn't know what the hell to do.
He kept his head down, not wanting to look anyone in their eyes. The guilt, shame, and all of his sins not letting him to hold his head up.
It's kind of fuuny when you think about it, really. People used to say he was a prodigy, top of his class for everything. But his life is complete shit. The last thing he had is sitting across him, and he lost him a long time ago.
He never had his own free will. Not from the day he was born, and probably not even when he dies. His life was never his.
And it never will be.
He was taught that at a young age from his father and mother. He was never allowed the basic things most kids had at his age. He was to never never cry, even when he got a beating. He could never raise his voice or talk too much, so people just assumed he was quiet and soft spoken. He never got toys, because they were just distractions from his training. He never got to celebrate his birthday, why would they waste time doing that when he could be training or studying? He always tried to please his parents no matter what situation, well until his brother came along.
Like that time the kids at the academy said he looked like a girl because of his long hair. And of course his father always told him that being anything but masculine and a man was wrong. So he cut his hair with a kunai that made his hair very uneven and choppy. When he got home from training that day he thought that they would praise him, which they never did no matter what he did, but he just got one of the worst beatings of his life. He couldn't walk straight for a whole week, but nobody asked questions. Why would they question the powerful Uchiha ways? They just blamed it all on his harsh training.
But then Sasuke was born.
An innocent little thing that should not have to live in the same cruel world his big brother did. The moment his brother looked in his eyes he knew-
He was going to be different. He was going to protect this world, be the good in the world, which was nothing like Itachi.
No Itachi he was sinful. He had been told so countless of times by his parents.
So the least he could do is protect his little brother. Make sure that he didn't have to suffer like he did.
But was it worth it?
From the way his brother sits to the look in his eye, the look of a broken hurt child, did he really do a good job of protecting him?
His heart has been broken way too many times that he thinks he no longer has one. The thing beating in his chest only use is to keep him alive. Not to hold the feelings he always wanted. He had been told so by his parents.
But his heart broke again from how his little brother looked at him.
He deserves it though.
He deserves every bad thing that comes his way.
He sat down his mug, ready to hear what his precious brother had to say. But still kept his head bowed at a angle.
"Do you have anything to say?" His voice cut through the silence. When had his voice gain bass in it. It used to be so high. He almost smiled at the memories.
