It took me about twenty minutes to get to the mall. I was twice faster in my wolf form than when I drove there.
I smelt the packs scent all over the area. I perked up my ears, trying to listen in on any wolves from my pack.
No one seemed to be around.
'Did you leave the search?' I asked Jace, my wolf coming out once again as I spoke to him.
From the minute I noticed Leila was gone, my wolf had surged from me whenever I spoke to anyone- even my father.
'We're at your parents' house, but the search will continue once we form a new plan,' Jace replied.
'So you are wasting your time at my parents' house, while my mate is out there?' I asked him.
'It was your father's idea, and I think it is better. We need a plan,' he said.
I chuckled darkly, finding their decision useless and idiotic.
I simply continued on my search. It was no use, and I knew it as well. My wolf didn't want me to rest until I found her. Until I found our mate.
It was dark outside when I returned home.
Once I shifted into my human form, the dirt and mud that had covered my fur now covered my body.
After taking a shower, I went to my office. Even though it was wrecked, I paid no attention to it as I served myself a drink and took a seat in my chair.
I needed to think of something. The pain I felt wouldn't go away.
I had taken about five drinks when the house phone started ringing.
I was about to ignore it, when I thought that it could be her calling me.
Maybe she was in trouble, or someone had really kidnapped her. Maybe she had run away but now wanted to return.
Whatever it was- was better as long as she came back to me.
"Hello!" I said into the phone desperately, hoping it was her on the other end of the line.
"Hello, I'm looking for Dylan Thomas, Alpha of The Midnight Moon Pack," a man said.
I frowned, wondering who it was that was calling me and why they knew exactly who I was.
"Who is asking?"
"I'm calling to ask permission to pass through your pack," he said.
"Who is this and why should I let you?" I asked, not really wanting to waste my time with this person.
"Myself and the neighboring pack from me have strong reasons to believe a rogue kidnapped my future wife.
They took her and I believe they were headed your way. I want to request permission to pass through your land. I would be in debt with you- if you grant me a pass along with my men, and some wolves from the neighboring pack- which is where she belonged," he said, sounding truthful in his words.
I was never one for compassion, but from Leila being taken away from me, I understood what he was going through.
"Who exactly is this?" I asked, remembering I still didn't know who I was talking to.
"This is Nicolas, Nicolas Wright- Alpha of the Raven Pack."
