Just like it had been before, another fight broke out. We were outnumbered two to one. This time however, it didn't seem like it would be as easy.

The pack Wolves were bigger than the Rogues Liam and Eric had taken care of before. If that wasn't enough, my dad was the Beta of Staten pack. He was one of the strongest Wolves I knew.

My dad had just been watching- as Liam, Eric, and Christy took to fighting the Wolves. This time, Eric wasn't able to protect me. He was too busy attempting to fight off three Wolves while trying not to get killed.

Whenever I tried attacking any of the Wolves that came with my dad, they would push me away- but they didn't harm me.

After my fifth attempt at fighting them and them not doing anything, I figured I could use that to my advantage.

I was trying to help Eric fight off the Wolves. It was easy, since none of them touched me. I could only guess that Alpha Nicolas had given them an order not to hurt me.

Liam was fighting with all he had. He was doing well, but he was still getting hurt. Christy wasn't fending off any better.

"Stop!" My dad commanded.

At his words, the Wolves attacking us retreated to stand behind him.

We were all shifted into our Wolves. When my dad said he wanted to speak with me, I took the back pack filled with clothes and shifted back to my human form behind some trees.

He was still my dad. A part of me was hoping he would give up. As impossible as it sounded, I still wanted him to come with us and form part of Midnight Moon.

"We won't fight," my father said to me once I'd gotten back from changing.

"Nicolas isn't going to be happy and my pack will see me as a traitor," he said.

I wasn't sure whether to believe him or not.

"How do I know you're not lying?" I asked him suspiciously.

"Because I keep my word- I don't run away from things."

I flinched at his words. The last part had been aimed at me and what I'd done months ago- when I left Alpha Nicolas.

"Your pack will forgive you," I said, taking a few steps toward him.

'Don't get too close,' Eric warned me.

He was still in his Wolf form. When Eric noticed I took a step closer to my dad, he'd do the same.

Christy and Liam stayed behind, but they looked guarded. We were still outnumbered.

"They won't forgive. Jackson will think of me as a traitor," my father said.

His statement had me confused, until I realized he didn't know that Alpha Jackson was gone.

I found it odd, considering Alpha Jackson went to attack Blake, yet Blake was fighting here. My dad must've seen him. That was, unless they hadn't crossed paths yet- or, if my dad had been too focused on killing- to notice Blake and his pack.

"Dad, Alpha Jackson is dead. Jake took over the pack," I slowly told him.

For a moment, I thought he would fake and pretend he didn't know about it. I thought he had just been playing me and now I was about to call him out on it.

The moment I notice his face crumble and his breathing turn harder- I realized he did not know about Alpha Jackson's death.

"You're lying. He left to take care..." he said, letting the sentence hang.
