Dylan looked at the Rogues, disgust clear in his face. It made me wonder if that was what he thought of me when we first met.

Sure, I hadn't exactly been a Rogue for long when we met, but I might have been. What if I hadn't found him that day? What if I'd met him after months or years of being a Rogue?

"Escort them to the mansion," Dylan told Jace. "I'll meet you back there," he finished saying, before taking hold of my arm and walking away with me.

Dylan had left his car on the far end of the parking lot. I was able to see as Jace walked with the Rouges toward they forest. They were probably going to run to our house, but Jace would make sure there were people from our pack surrounding the Rogues so they wouldn't escape.

"I knew letting you out of my sight was a bad idea. I knew it, but I still let you leave," Dylan said, once we were in his car.

"Nothing bad happened," I commented.

Dylan didn't agree, because he growled at my words.

"Rogues trespassed. They were able to get inside our land and you call that nothing bad?" Dylan asked, giving me a hard look.

"They only want to talk. And it involves me, so I think we should hear them out," I told Dylan, even though I wasn't exactly happy with his tone.

"What?" Dylan's voice sounded louder since we were enclosed in the short space of his fancy sports car.

"The one in the middle asked something about Alpha Jackson and Alpha Nicolas' pack. Then he brought me up. But, you came along so I don't really know why," I casually replied.

"I'm not going to talk to them. Whatever they have to say has no interest to me. I will deal with Jackson and Nicolas," Dylan harshly replied.

"I want to have a say in this," I told him, turning to face his way.

He looked at me a few seconds before drifting his eyes back to the road.

"Nothing good will come out of hearing them. Rogues can't be trusted. How do I know they aren't here as a distraction, while more of them attack the pack?" He asked.

Dylan had a good point. But something told me the Rogues weren't lying. They knew something and I wanted to know what it was.

"I'm not saying we trust them and become their best friend. All I ask is that we hear them out."

We were just about to reach the mansion, when Dylan started slowing down the car- before coming to a stop on the side of the road.

Dylan didn't say anything. He was facing forward and his hands were gripping steering wheel of the car. His thoughtful expression gave me hope that he was considering hearing out what the Rogues had to say.

"What if they had hurt you?" Dylan asked, finally turning to look at me.

"Jace, Eric, and John were there. I know they could've taken the four Wolves," I replied.

"If they somehow distracted them and more would've come to take you from me?"

"There were a lot of people from the pack. They would've tried to help me. I would've called you through our mind link to let you know," I reassured him.

"Why didn't you tell me as soon as you noticed the Rogues? Why was Jace the first to call me?" Dylan's voice sounded hurt. My Wolf stirred at that, and I reached over to take his hand that was still over the steering wheel.

"Jace got to you first. I don't think I had it in me to talk to you. I got scared," I replied, feeling ashamed. I shouldn't have been scared.

Dylan leaned toward me, wrapping his arms around my waist as best as he could. The small space in his car didn't allow for much.
