I was running my hands over his arms, trying to sooth him and find a way to calm him down.
"How the f*ck can they do that to somebody? A fixed marriage between Wolves shouldn't exist. We all have our mates!" Dylan kept saying.
"I know," I lamely said, not knowing what would make him feel better.
"Did he ever hurt you?" Dylan asked, his intense stare was concentrated on my eyes. I felt like looking down, and bowing to him. But I knew his intention wasn't to order me around. He wanted for me to tell him the truth.
I shook my head, not being able to answer with words.
"Did he- did he ever touch you?" Dylan asked, pausing in his sentence and looking down.
"He didn't," I replied, my voice sounding completely weak.
"He wants you. Nicolas has made it clear that he wants you back," Dylan said, his voice sounding emotionless.
"I know, but I don't want to go with him. I don't want to go with my pack. Please, don't let him take me," I said to Dylan, as I wrapped my arms around his neck tightly.
"I would never let him take you. You are mine," Dylan said to me, his voice sounding deadly serious.
"Is that why you ran away?" Dylan asked me, once I had loosened my hold on him.
"Yes, I didn't want to stick around and get married with him. It felt wrong," I replied.
Dylan shook his head, and now completely pulled away from me. I whimpered at not being closed to him, but he quickly grabbed my hand in his.
"I wasn't talking about then. With me, is that why you ran away from me?" Dylan asked.
I nodded my head, and looked at our entangled hands.
"Why didn't you tell me? I would've understood," Dylan said, putting his hand under my chin and making me look at him.
"I kept wanting to run away. I was scared that they would come after me. When I finally did run away, it's because I had gotten mad at you. It's easy to get mad at you," I told him, remembering the day when he got jealous and kicked Eric and John out because of what I'd been wearing.
Dylan chuckled, and it made my mind relax.
"I know. We do get into a lot of arguments, but I'd rather you be angry at me then for you to run away," Dylan said, running his hand on the side of my face.
"I thought you hated me." His voice sounded unsure as he said that.
"I don't, even if I'd tried, I wouldn't be able to," I told him, leaning down to brush my lips against him.
"I love you," I said, looking into his eyes and kissing him once again. He immediately responded to my kiss. The kiss was different from other's we'd shared. It was softer, yet I felt the intensity from Dylan running through me.
A knock on the wall of the living room made me pull away from Dylan.
"Nicolas, Jackson, and his men are outside," Jace said, standing awkwardly at the entrance of the game room.
Dylan looked up at Jace, his jaw hardening as he took in his words.
"Round up as many men from our pack as you can, and have them meet me in front of the house," Dylan ordered Jace.
Another guy walked in and Jace told him to start gathering the men. The guy left soon after he was given the orders. Jace stuck around in the room, looking at Dylan curiously.
"Is something wrong?" Jace asked Dylan, but looked between the two of us.
"They want Leila," Dylan told him, getting up and heading toward the door.
Both Jace and I followed after him and saw as he entered his study. It surprised me to see how unorganized and messy it looked, but I could tell someone had tried to clean it up.
"Why do they want her?" Jace asked, looking at me, almost wanting me to reply.
"Jackson arranged a marriage between Leila and Nicolas. She's the girl that was supposed to marry Nicolas. Rogues didn't take her, she ran away," Dylan said as he rummaged through his drawers. Jace looked completely shocked and even took a seat in one of the chairs.
"He really wants her back Dylan. It's all he was talking about on his way here. He's obsessed with the girl, with Leila," Jace said, while moving his gaze toward me.
Dylan pulled out a pouch similar to the one Blake had shown me.
"Let me put this on you," Dylan said, showing me the beautiful necklace. It had an emerald stone in the center and it was even more breathtaking than the one Blake had. I couldn't look away from the intricate designs. The clothes I was wearing seemed plain, yet the necklace made up for them.
"Do you know what it is? Your father is a Beta, so you might have seen one before," Dylan explained.
"I know what it is," I said to him, not mentioning that the reason I knew what the necklace meant was because Blake had told me.
"Your dad is a Beta?" Jace asked, understanding crossing through his face.
"Yes, he's the one accompanying Jackson," I admitted.
"The day I met you, I knew your scent carried power," Jace said, giving me a smile.
"I know, I thought you would figure it out," I told him. The day I met Jace was still engraved in my mind. It was so strange how one day I was considering a life with him, and the next I had found my mate.
"Beta, they're here," the same guy who Jace had ordered to gather the pack, said.
"Thanks Leo, stay out there and keep an eye on them. We'll be right out," Jace told they guy.
As soon as Leo was out of the office, Jace turned to face Dylan.
"What are we going to do?" Jace asked him, looking ready for any order that Dylan handed.
"Right now, I just want them off my land," Dylan said.
"And I want Nicolas to know that Leila is mine, and he will not be getting her back." Dylan wrapped his arm around my waist and started walking us out of the office, with Jace right behind us.
