They all stopped what they were doing and looked at me and then at Dylan.
I turned to face Dylan as well, wondering if he would go against my order.
Dylan nodded toward the men, and slowly, they released the Rogues.
"Thank you Luna," the Rogue said, bowing his head in my direction.
"What is your name?" I asked him, and then turned to look around at the other three Rogues.
"My name is Adam. This Peter," he pointed to the first guy who had spoken to me at the parking lot.
"That's Chris, and he's Robert," he finished saying. Chris and Robert had not said a word since we had met them. They seemed on the quiet side, but I could tell they were alert of their surroundings.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Leila, Luna of Midnight Moon. This is Dylan, my Alpha," I told them, as I gave Dylan's hand a squeeze.
The guys each nodded at me, and then at Dylan. They seemed more at ease, and I thought it was probably progress- considering they were in a room full of Wolves that wanted to kill them.
"We won't release any prisoners," Dylan spoke up.
The four guys turned to look at me with what looked like hopeful eyes. I shook my head at them, and then turned to face Dylan.
"I have to agree with him here. I don't think it's wise to let anyone go," I told the group, not wanting for them to get their hopes up.
"Liam didn't do anything to your pack. From what I heard, you took him in as a favor to another pack. Since he didn't commit a crime here, I don't think it's too bad if you let him go," Adam said, looking more at me then at Dylan.
"Liam? He's the one you want?" Dylan asked- his hard expression turning into one of amusement.
The name sounded familiar to me. After thinking it through sometime, I remembered it was the Rogue that some other pack had brought a few days ago.
I remembered his face, because he had stared deep into my eyes and I had actually felt bad for him. He was battered and beaten when the others had brought him here.
"Yes," Peter, the guy who talked to me first at the market's parking lot, replied.
"I wasn't going to let any of my prisoners go, but him especially- I won't let him go."
I turned to face Dylan. I wasn't going to argue with him about this, but I wondered what was so special about this Rogue. If he hadn't done anything bad to our pack, then why was there so much interest in keeping him locked up?
"Why not?" Peter asked, taking a step forward. The minute he did, John took a step closer him and he made Peter move back.
"I'm trying to protect Leila from getting taken away from me. Do you think I would let Liam go? Do you know what he did? He tried to kidnap and rape the Luna of another pack. Liam isn't going anywhere," Dylan stated.
Everyone in the room went silent at his words. Other than Jace- who seemed to have already known what had happened- everyone else looked surprised by what Dylan had said.
I felt shocked, to say the least. I looked back at the memory I had of the Rogue, Liam. He didn't look like he had done what Dylan was saying he did.
I didn't condone killing anyone, but I wondered why the other Alpha hadn't killed Liam for doing what he did. It's what any other Wolf would've done- especially an Alpha.
Those thoughts made me doubt Liam's crimes. Maybe he was innocent. Maybe we could release him, and have Adam or Peter tell us the information they had.
"Look, he didn't do anything. Whatever they told you was a lie. Let him go with us and we'll tell you everything we know," Peter said, once again looking more at me then at Dylan.
"No," once again Dylan stated.
After Dylan said that, all four of them turned to look at me. I wanted to help, but I didn't know if I should. My thoughts were jumbled up with the possibilities that were running through my mind.
'Can we talk about this before you decide anything?' I asked Dylan through our mind link.
He snapped his head in my direction. His frown told me he wasn't planning on changing his mind.
"Don't let them go. We'll be back," Dylan told Jace, before walking with me out of the living room.
He didn't say anything as he held my hand in his- walking us to his office.
"I'm not letting the Rogue go," Dylan told me as soon as he shut the door.
"I'm not saying you should. But it's something to consider. They said he didn't really do anything," I told Dylan, but my voice sounded unsure.
"They are Rogues, meaning they can't be trusted."
"I was a Rogue too, you know," I said, feeling the need to defend them.
Dylan cracked a smile, and walked toward me.
"You weren't a Rogue for long. And that wouldn't matter because you are my mate," Dylan said, caressing my cheek when he was close enough to me.
"What if I wasn't your mate? You would've killed me like you wanted to kill them?" I told him, my voice rising slightly higher.
"Not really. I probably would've held you hostage and kept you all to myself," Dylan playfully replied.
"That's exactly what you did when I met you!" I exclaimed
Dylan grinned at me, which made me warm all over. I loved when he was smiling, grinning, or laughing. He rarely did it, so I didn't get to enjoy him like that as much.
I couldn't contain myself as I got on my tip toes and crashed my lips on his.
Dylan seemed surprised at first, but it didn't take him long to respond to my kiss.
He bit my lower lip, asking for entrance, which I happily granted him. His hands- that had been on my waist- started sliding lower to my butt before returning to my waist once again.
Our lips were moving in sync, while his tongue played with mine. I loved the tingles that were running all over my body from being so close to him. His hands created warmth in my waist, where he was holding me.
I didn't want to pull away, but I had too. Everyone was waiting in the living room to what Dylan had decided, and I didn't think it was fair that we were here making out while they were out there.
"Do you know how much I love you?" Dylan asked.
I put my hands on the sides of his face. Right now he seemed so relaxed, I wished he didn't have to stress about this problem that kept haunting us.
"I love you back," I told him, and pecked his lips. I didn't want to give him a lingering kiss because I knew that it would distract us from what was happening.
"Leila, I trust the Alpha that sent Liam. I don't know what happened at his pack, but I am respecting his wishes," Dylan told me.
"If you want to send them away, it's fine. But I thought maybe it was all a misunderstanding with Liam and that Pack. I mean, if he was that bad- why let him live?"
My question seemed to make Dylan think. But something told me he wasn't going to change his mind.
"Let's go back," he said, wrapping his arm around my waist. I didn't know what he had decided, but I wasn't going to question it.
As long as he let the four guys go without hurting them, then I would be fine.
