finally, hoshiko could tell that she's getting over her cold. now she only has a sore throat and a runny nose, but she hadn't had a fever in the past couple of days and she seems to feel a lot stronger. she had taken some days off of school and her neighbour, postponed their training until she gets better. instead, he gave her a few tips and told her to get familiar with the ball. she practically doesn't let it go at this point.

with the ball on her lap and cup of warm cocoa in hand, she sits on an armchair she bought and placed right beside the window. she sits there calmly, enjoying the warm atmosphere. she cleaned up the entire house, bought additional stuff and decorated the place with her own stuff.

now, there were a lot more pictures on the wall beside the old ones. pictures of her in her younger days with her brother, with mikey and keisuke, toman, both in their early days and later days. pictures of her and the 0th division, her at school, her football team. all of her precious memories were on the wall. hanging them up beside her father's pictures, it felt like a way of showing him that she's happy. that she's doing well.

with a fireplace lit and light music christmas music playing in the background, she sat enjoying the view outside. it was snowing outside. it was the first snow this year.

she couldn't help but wait for the drift races, knowing how fun and dangerous they'll be with snow covering the roads.

she couldn't wait.

but there was an another thing that didn't leave her mind. the invitation to syndicate's races. just as takeshi said, she received an individual invitation. a mysterious red envelope was pushed underneath her door.

tomorrow...was when all of it will begin.

"calm down, hoshiko, everything will be alright." she was nervous. scared even. she tried calming herself down in various ways. she did various things to try and keep it out of her head. she sent a letter to the high school she chose, which was itachiyama institute. they sent her a reply immediately, inviting her to the school and their volleyball practises, both to watch and to join. she told them about her worries, saying how she practically knows nothing about volleyball. they said not to worry, that she'll pick up the ropes fast. they also sent her some things to research and watch, to learn more about the sport.

she also reached out to takemichi, wanting to learn as much about their plans with the black dragons as possible. mikey and draken forbid her from leaving her house, since she came to them while being sick. they said to focus on her health first.

"they're such worrywarts..." she mumbles with a small smile and takes a sip of her warm drink. suddenly, there's a knock on her doors, making her jump up and head to the front doors immediately. she opens the doors and is greeted by a grinning mikey.
