Chapter 23: The Game

Instead of the Man, A stern looking Lady appeared in the doorway. Giving us Piercing looks with her Eyes "I am Flora. As you all hope I may become your Principal at Magi Academy, But first let us explain the rules of this game." 

Me, Alyssa, Chad and Thomas looked at each other. It seemed like we were all thinking the same thing- We're doomed. "First" Said Flora "No name calling, Do you understand?" We all nodded, Still pretty sure we were doomed "Second," Flora said gazing her eyes on Thomas who began tugging on his staff. "No resurrecting  your fallen teammates." Darn we are so doomed- "Third," Said Flora with a calm voice, but a few moments later she screeched "NO JOKING AROUND! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!?" 

"Yes..." We all said- Still with the expression of 'We are sooooo doomed' on our faces.

Flora left the room and everything felt like it was rising.... Everything went black... Had the game already began? Had I died?

I slowly blinked open my eyes. The team was standing beside me, We were on platforms of hot obsidian that scorched our feet. Our clothes had changed too. We weren't wearing and shoes and we were all dressed in pinkish red robes.

A Large Dark Tower with crackling purple lightning at the top was in the center of the Arena, which housed a small impish creature which held a large pitch-black megaphone

"Welcome Welcome! 4 of you all will become Students at the world famous Magi Academy!" Said the Small Creature "The other 12... Well, I'm going to say no more, Good luck!"
Thomas looked ambitious, but with that tinge of fear from earlier still on his face

"BEGIN!" Shouted The Small Creature. Thomas's hands were shaking as he pulled the staff from his back, I was shaking as a boy about my age fell into the lava below, Chad was frozen with fear. But Alyssa...

"Alyssa?!?" I said looking around in fear, Had she already died? That's when I saw her, battling with a Black Haired Boy near the tower. Alyssa twirled a baton with silky red ribbons attached, But just as she was about to hit the Boy off the platform.

Floosh! Ice materialized below them, Causing them to be slipping and sliding- One would fall in the lava. 

Both slid off the Platform, Alyssa grabbed on as she watched the boy fall into the lava. The ice that Alyssa was holding on suddenly melted-

I needed to save her, So I did the only thing I could do-

Jump into the lava.

But before I could fall into the Lava something rescued me and Alyssa-

-It was a Dragon with bronze scales lining its body, Which began to fly up and down, Spewing fire everywhere. Thomas and Chad were cheering. The small creature at the top of the tower looked surprised. 

That's when I felt something out of the ordinary. A Voice- Inside my head. "Win... Win... You are Antion's last hope... Win and everyone will be saved..." Everything went dark for a second, I told Alyssa my plan. She handed me her Staff and I jumped off the soaring Dragon onto the ground below.

2 Kids were left, They'd be saved anyways. I began twirling Alyssa's staff hitting one of children in the arm, Nearly knocking them off the platform. "Let go- You're not going to die." I said, staring at the one losing his grip "How do you know? You trickster!" Said the child "JUST LET GO!" I screamed, before kicking his hand so he fell into the pit.

The last one looked frightful "You are a trickster! He didn't survive!" she said before jumping as I twirled the staff. "I didn't say he'd be resurrected immediately. Your going to have to fall too. Trust me- Please"

The girl stood at the edge and Cannonballed inside. Before the creature said "CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS!"
