Chapter 22: Love and Lies

"What Kiera?" Said Chad, But before I could say anything I fell asleep.

--- 4 Hours Later... ---

I blinked open my eyes, I wasn't on the Ippa anymore. For a second I thought I was back on earth, Until I saw a Familiar Face. One I hadn't see in a long time.

Romanova.

Instead of her usual Mystical Attire she was wearing a white robe with a torn sleeve. I blinked twice to make sure it was real, Then pinched myself. Chad entered the room "Is Keira awak-" "Yes." Said Romanova, in her calm mystical voice. Despite what she was wearing I knew it was her.

A Man wearing black robes tightened with a golden belt entered, His hair was a flaming red. "Miss Robinson is ready now?" said the Man, Chad nodded. "Good I'll go get the others." The Man replied. "Others?" I asked before standing up "What do they mean Others?"

"You'll soon know. Good Luck, You'll need it."  Romanova said before leaving the room. "Chad- What's going on?" I asked looking at the Stone Walls of the Chamber we were in. "I don't know. Looks like The Mythic Dawn set it up."

"What do you mean 'Mythic Dawn'!" I said with a sudden tone of anger "Romanova was here! I know she would never join them!" Chad stared at me "What I mean Keira, is that-" He stopped for a little bit "Nevermind, What I mean is that The Mythic Dawn has created some game that's supposed to harm people or at least test them. Probably with their magical skill-"

I had watched a show that was sounded a bit like what Chad was saying. It was about these people playing games for prizes, if they lost, they died. I was hoping that losing didn't mean death. But that man did say 'Others' that means there were at least 2 other people with us,H Hopefully we'd working as a team. 

I began to take note of my surroundings. Two wooden tables stood at the ends of the room, An Iron Plate lay near the middle and 4 Beds were spaced apart in the back of the room. As I took note of each of these in my head I heard footsteps and some talking. "Nothing- Nothing at all, 4 Winners 12 Losers. Losers die- Pretty simple. We've got a session today already so you'll have to wait." Said someone nearby, I heard a small Child's cry of "I don't want to die" and a worried Mother saying "Is there any other way we can get in?" "Unless your ancestry has been Mages for as long as you can remember you can get in and skip the battles." Said the person who worked there.

I gulped, That's when I heard more footsteps. But then I focused on the Conversation somewhere nearby. The Mother had just said that her 17th Great Grandfather was a Mage and the entire family after that had been Mages too. The Worker then said "Lets test your Ancestry... Lets see if your telling the truth..."

I heard the door creak open and I turned my eyes to the light. "This is Alyssa and Thomas." Said the Man in the black robe. I stared at the two. Thomas was a skinny boy with brown hair which covered one of his eyes, Alyssa had purple hair that flowed in a ponytail which fell down to her waist. "This is Keira and Chad" Said the Man before giving both of us a sharp look and a small grin. "Good Luck, You're gonna need it." 

"So..." Said Alyssa, Giving both of us a Smirk "Why did you guys want to come to Magi Academy?" I looked at Chad, I was startled. "To learn uh- Magic!" I said, The embarrassment inside me felt like I had grown a tail. "Of course." Said Alyssa, rolling her eyes "What type of Magic? Necromancy? Alchemy? Arcane Magic? Ancient Runes? Elementals?" I blinked "I don't really know yet... None of my Family has been to Magi Academy before."

Well... Yeah, But none of them have been to Antion either!

Thomas fidgeted with a large staff he was carrying on his back. It looked as though it was very weather battered it had some Steampunk flair, Along with his outfit. He was wearing a pair of pilots goggles atop his head and his vest looked like it had been blowing in a tornado. He spotted my eyes gazing at him, Which caused him to abruptly say that his Parents were pilots in the City of Charnon, But they wanted him to have a better education than Charnon's Pilot School.

Alyssa bragged that her Parents were High-Class officials until King Grogan Thump's rule came, Supposedly her Great-Great Grandfather on her Father's side had been transported to Antion from Earth, That's why they were not elites anymore. 

Chad explained something which I felt like was lies, As he spent most of his time that he was talking looking at me. Or he had a crush on me- The thought of that made me Blush. But again- 4 Winners 12 Losers.... Losers die-

"So? What about you Keira?" Said Thomas, Fidgeting with his Staff again this time it emitted a large puff of smoke. "Uh..." I was about to make up lies, But decided to tell them the heroic tale of Betrayal, Friendship and some other random stuff. Nah, that was too long, I'll just give them a short summary. "Uh... I came here from Earth and the rest of my fami-"

Thomas and Alyssa looked at me with expressions of shock and awe, Causing me to stop talking. "And that's the full story." I finished, Smiling weirdly. Alyssa broke her trance and gave me a look of annoyance, Which made me feel like I had sprouted a tail again. 

That's when I heard it again... footsteps. "I think the games are about to begin..." Said Thomas, His brave and happy face turned to one mingled with fear and Anxiety.
