The doorknob twisted and the door it was attached to opened, Inside was a comfortable room, 4 beds, 2 tables and a bookcase. A leaflet was placed on one of the tables, next to it was a carved slab of wood. I turned my back to Chad and the others.
"So, now what are we supposed to do?" I said, partially directing my frustration at Alyssa "Me and Chad are supposed to be dead now! What if we are caught? What if they find out?"
"AND WHAT IF THEY HEARD US RIGHT NOW!" Shouted Thomas, I could tell he was as frustrated as I myself was. I creaked open the door to notice the room was now positioned in a hallway filled with doors, each with a number inscribed on it. Across the hall from our room was room 689, I turned to check ours, 679.
I slipped back in and told my friends that the boys from the Mythic Dawn were gone. I successfully was able to conceal my relationship with Roman, how I knew him, how he betrayed me, how I would never forgive him. Chad seemed to be doing the same.
I gazed out the only window in our room, it was dusty and the wooden panels were rotting, Students below in the courtyard were happily chatting, I even recognized a few from the game, they actually did survive.
An earsplitting announcement rang throughout the hallways of Magi Academy, alerting students far and wide.
"Your classes begin in 20 minutes"
Everyone froze, like a mind controlling parasite was planted in their body and took full control from this announcement, they preceded to line up Infront of their towers. Whose doors swung open, 3 students entered in at a time as an adult checked each one in. I heard footsteps down the hallway, doors swung open and closed shut. I could hear chatting through the walls to the rooms next to ours. This is when I took time to read the leaflet.
To my surprise, it wasn't a leaflet. It was a schedule. The black ink on it was fresh and shined in the window light. I read this schedule before stuffing it in my belt, yet the ink didn't stain one bit.
Time ticked by on the annoying clock that was drilled to the wall, we all tried breaking it apart and using magic to make the clock silent. Nothing worked. So to spend our time we read our schedules repeatedly, Thomas read to the ticking of the clock, Occasionally Alyssa would look up and inform us on the time.
10 minutes...
6 Minutes...
3 minutes...
2 minutes...
1 minute...
GONG! A bell rings in the distance, although it sounds as if it was in the room next to us. Doors swung open and shut again and we step out of our room. Everyone's body was stiff as a board and like before, they all marched out, but there was no adult to check them this time, I tried to act the same, but I was sure my posture was faulty.
We ended up in a dark classroom, only a small candle, which was worn with age, dimly flickered the room. I heard footsteps from afar, I tried to make myself unnoticeable by resting my head into the dark textbook on the table.
I heard a door creak open and even louder footsteps, that's when somebody grabbed by book "What do you think your doing?!?" Said a man's frustrated voice.
"New students" he sighed "They always don't know what to do." He walked away. "Stupid Candle" I heard him mutter. There was a slide of metal on wood, a loud sound of something being thrown on the hard stone floor.
"Today we will review our textbooks. Except for you" I could hear his robes swish toward me. "Children like you should know exactly what to do. What are you? From earth?!"
He was already on to me. "No sir, I'd already be dead." I replied, standing up.
"Sit. Down. Now." He said in a strict tone that chilled me to the core "Or else" I sat back down on my rickety chair. I heard pages of textbooks flip in what felt like ages of darkness, when I emerged I expected my face to be as pale as a vampire's. But when the time came to be dismissed everyone looked the same, everyone was calm and relaxed.
Me and the others returned to our room, as we entered a few things were different, a small plate of food sat on the table, a mixture that looked much like Guacamole, and two things I hadn't seen for ages, my eyes were stuck on them, so delicious yet so forgotten.
Sapphire Sauce and Caramel Bread.
I discreetly helped myself to a large portion of the bread, I knew to be careful with Sapphire Sauce, but dumped a large portion of the swirly blue concoction onto my plate.
I licked the sauce until it was as sweet as honey, poured it on the bread and devoured the contents on the plate, I had longed for a good meal other than Serentti in a while.
Rain splatters against the misty window, cleaning it to a fresh clear, the small pitter patter of rain soothes me and seems to control my brain. It's magical, mysterious, mesmerizing. I walk to my bed under the control of the sound of the rain, resting my eyes and drifting off to sleep.
