Chapter 24: Disguise or Demise

Me, Chad, Thomas and Alyssa woke up in a oval stone room lined with flowers. Ivy was growing in the cracks of the stone and a desk with rickety legs stood in the center. Books lay open and scattered on the floor, Much like someone had rampaged into here. Thomas scratched his head before asking "What are we doing here?"

There was a grey and dirty window covered with Ivy in the corner, I was pretty sure I was the only one to notice. That's until a small blue light vaporized in front of it. As that happened it began to take a Humanoid shape, then changing some of the color to white, which looked like clothes upon the glowing entity. The white slowly became flowing silk, 2 blotches of blue turned grey and glowed bright, the rest turned brown, except for a large flowing part that looked like hair. That turned pitch black.

It began forming in front of us, shaping into an even more Humanoid look. That's until someone stood where it had been.

"Ro-Romanova!" Chad sputtered.

Romanova slowly walked over to us, "I know one of you got my message. At least one. Raise your hand" I slowly raised my hand. "That is very well..." She said before turning her back "I have one special thing for you to do... Since you are Antion's last hope." "That's not fair!" Said Thomas, looking outraged "She gets special privileges!"

"I never said she would get special privileges" Said Romanova, looking at Thomas "But its not just her..."

I stared at Chad with Surprise- He never rose his hand and I was sure he'd be the other one with whatever Romanova was going to give me.

"It's all of you..." Said Romanova "All of you are Antion's last hope. Every single one of you sitting in this room can defeat the Mythic Dawn." 

We all had expressions of Shock on our faces. I wasn't completely sure why it was all 4 of us, Alyssa was pretty rude, Thomas was very young, Chad was too- Uh- mysterious for even me to trust.

Romanova then brought out a jar filled with Blue and Pink paper. "Ladies, You choose one pink paper, You two." She said looking at Chad and Thomas "Pull out 1 blue paper. Inside is your fake identity, If you reveal a slip of Information about who you truly are. Trust me, Your going to be dead meat."

We all stared at each other, It felt like I was leaving everything of my past behind. Forgetting everything, Until I pulled a Paper from the Jar

I was confused and scared. This was not the Paper meant for me. Thomas seemed content with his, Chad was scared, Alyssa was looking smug but disgusted with her paper.

"So now," Said Romanova "Look at each others papers. You have to make sure that you don't give anything away. You're going to keep everything a secret."

I looked at Chad's first.

I could see how Chad was scared, If he didn't have any Werewolf abilities then he could easily be caught as a fake. That's when I remembered something too long ago-

The Moongrass Farm, How it got attacked by Werewolves every full moon. I came up with the perfect plan- But it would also cut Chad's budget. Most likely he couldn't work at the farm anymore- He would also put me in danger.

I showed Chad mine and he nodded.

Thomas then showed me his:

Austi Akor - Age: 10 - Species: Mage - Residence: Arvarn

"I'm turning 10 in two Months. What I'm scared about with mine is my Appearance. They'll easily know I'm not from Arvarn" He said. 

Alyssa gave me a look of disgust when I asked to see hers. I tried to reason with her before she reluctantly gave me the paper.

Vixen Skyfront - Age 13 - Species: Darkspear Elf -  Residence: Elven Forest

"How am I going to wear pointy ears?" Alyssa said with a cringe. 

"Ah, That will be simple." Said Romanova, She pulled out a wand from one of her pockets then swished it. Alyssa's ears glowed a bright purple, Before growing longer and becoming pointy. "Is this permanent?" Said Alyssa "No, But your ears may hurt after its removed." Said Romanova

Chad looked at me and smiled "Maybe she can grant me the powers for my identity." He said.

"Oh gosh no! Powers are something not even the strongest mages can give!" Said Romanova, but then changing her voice to a cheerful tone "Now for the outfits!" 

There was a flash of orange light, before I saw my new attire on me. A minty green jacket covered my white tunic, I was wearing a brown belt with many silver fastens in it along with a place to hold a Dagger. My pants were also a minty green, with brown sandals.

I turned to Chad, who was now wearing a brown jacket, which was loosely hanging onto his white T-shirt. He wore ripped Brown jeans that gave him the aspect of his Identity. Even though he didn't have the powers for it.

Thomas was wearing a red t-shirt with black shorts. His outfit was fairly simple.

Alyssa looked disgusted at her outfit. She was wearing a purple tanktop, which made a large dragon tattoo on her arm very visible. Her now pointy ears were covered in black accessories. "My Mom's going to kill me!" She said in a scared and shocked tone.

"Don't worry Alyssa. I'm for sure that your parents aren't coming to Magi Academy any time soon." Said Romanova, chuckling.

"But are you sure?" Said Alyssa "My parents are some of the Magical Elite. Well, before the King showed his true colors."

Romanova nodded. "They definitely won't be coming then."  

We all look scared, but relieved at the same time. "But most importantly." Said Romanova "You must choose one Magic. Even though I despise it myself, I believe it is the only way to save Antion as a whole."

"What is it?" Asked Thomas in excitement. Romanova then gave Thomas a piece of white paper, "You'll have to figure out." Said Romanova, before disappearing again.
