Three Boys a little older than us swung open the door, they were obviously members of the Mythic Dawn because of their robes. "Where have all four of you been! We've been looking for you! Its time to choose your main subject!" said the boy at the front. I fell back startled, forgetting I was in my disguise.
"Whats wrong with you...?" Said the front one as he heard me crash into the desk "Anyways lets go, Hurry up!"
I stayed silent and carefully stepped down each stair as the trio of Mythic Dawn boys were leading us to the courtyard muttering to not put any toes out of line.
I gazed at the ancient engravings that filled the walls, the air smelled of Freshly Cut Grass with a hint of rotten eggs, causing the dark staircase to put a damper on my mood. But as I gently gazed over the murals, I stopped.
Words were forming on one of the murals...
Only you can stop them all.... Only you can seal their fates.... Only you can save them....
Then below them the cheerful message of 'Welcome to Magi Academy!' formed, maybe it was just to greet new students. But again the messages on top were very suspicious
Then someone grabbed me. I turned back to see Chad in his disguise, he beckoned me back down the stairs, not mentioning a word.
I looked at the words before they formed to another sentence- Go with him
Chad made a motion of signs when I looked back, which I nodded to and followed him.
The Courtyard, in it's grand and bountiful beauty, emerged when we opened the door. Sunlight flowed from every corner, illuminating every being inhabiting the place currently.
A door creaks open... and swings shut...
In a blink of an eye shadows fill the sky, clouds have the odd shape of skulls and every time a lightning strikes the sky is illuminated in a flash and switches back to the scary, dark theme again.
Thomas comes rushing over to us says three words that could ruin the fate of Antion
"She went in"
"ALYSSA!" I screamed tumbling and pushing my way through the crowd of students. The dark door of the Necromancy Tower loomed over me, it was taller than I had expected it to be.
Soon the sky flowed a brilliant blue, red and green. Rain pouring down one moment, the earth shaking another and flames illuminating the sky the next.
I quickly turned the brass doorknob of the Necromancy Tower, a sinister chill ran down my spine. As I turned it I saw a flash of white, Alyssa was standing next to Romanova
"Good job, both of you. You figured it out." Said Romanova
"I told you I was right!" Boasted Alyssa.
I could hear the thunder outside, the floorboards were wobbly and creaked under our weight, I could probably say that Chad and Thomas had both noticed the skies and were now banging on the door and rapidly shouting the words "WHY KEIRA! WHY!"
I sighed, before opening the door, Chad and Thomas stepped in.
"But, to prove you are smart enough to take Necromancy, I'll give you a riddle. If you can solve it in under 10 minutes, I'll let you pass..."
It didn't seem like Romanova when she had said those words, she usually let us pursue our dreams and goals- She had left now and Alyssa was handed a small piece of paper. We all gathered around to see the riddle. Time was ticking, we needed to solve it fast.
What does man love more than life, hate more than death or mortal strife; that which contented men desire; the poor have, the rich require; the miser spends, the spendthrift saves, and all men carry to their graves?
We all stared in confusion- worry- and most importantly, fear. Panic struck all of us, we knew nearly all was lost, our brilliant minds were dimming every second.
My brain flickered off for a second and the brilliant answer came to mind...
