Episode 8

At home, everyone is very happy that Maya has also found a job.
Soon, Manya returns.

Maya: Manya, you won't believe this. My friend Karina has helped me secure a job in one of the soap and detergents Ad. company.
Manya: Really Didi. That's so great. Soon my sister is going to start appearing on TV adverts. Congratulations, come here (pulls Maya into a hug)
Maya: Thank you sister and how was your interview too?
Manya: Uhh it was really amazing. I have been appointed as the new secretary of Avinash Khan's group.
Maya: Awww that's more like my sis. You fit that a lot.
Anshuman: Congratulations girls, you've really made your family proud today.
Manya: Thank you dad.
Shreya: Anshuman please call the priest. We have to give offerings to the gods for being fair to our family. I'm so happy.
Anshuman: sure mother
Palak: I'll make sweets now.
Shreya: yes dear please do that.

Soon, there was celebration in the house and everyone was really busy.

At Ram Sampath's house.
Sameer arrives in a very angry mood.

Sameer: (shouting) Grandfather! Grandfather!! Grandmother!!!
Harshdeep: What's the problem my grandson? Why are you shouting?
Raavi: What is it Sameer?
Sameer: I do not want to be the director of your company anymore, my life has being ruined because of that decision.
Naina: What are you saying my son?
Sameer: (Angry and shouting at the top of his voice) I said I don't want that position anymore, I never knew that my friend Maya was Anshuman Sampath's daughter and grandfather didn't even tell me anything. I hate this family. You have to return that post back to Anshuman or else I'll take my own life.

Naina: (shocked) No my son you can't do that.
Raavi:That would never happen Sameer, Anshuman can't get that position back.
Sameer: Why grandmother? Why can't he?
Raavi: (silent and getting furious)
Sameer: Just why? Tell me grandmother!!! Why???!
Raavi: (Finally blurts out) Because I don't want Shreya and her sons to be happy!
Ever since I got married to your grandfather, she has never been happy with me. She accused your grandfather of cheating on her and she always wanted bad for me and that's why her sons gave birth very late. For the fact that you're the eldest grandchild of this family Sameer, I won't let Shreya's grandchildren or even her children again occupy any position in this company of ours again and that's final. (She shouted)

Sameer: Then I won't also be a part of the company. And  I've decided that I would go in search of a job. In that case I won't be denying Maya and her family of any happiness. (Leaves angrily)
Raavi: If that's Sameer's decision, then my son Ram will be the managing director of this company.
Sameer: (Halted immediately) I won't ever be a party to that.
Naina: Sameer why must you disobey your grandmother this way?
Sameer: And mother, why must she always make all the decisions every time? Even grandfather hasn't said anything. Look mother, I'm not being disobedient but I won't support her plan to ruin other people's happiness. I'm done with this and I'm leaving this house right now never to come back here again. (Goes up the stairs to pack his belongings and comes back in no time with his luggage). I'm leaving this house.

Ram: What do you think you're doing Sameer?
Sameer: I'm leaving of course and no one should stop me. (Shuts the door and leaves the house)
Naina: Sameer! Sameer come back here!!!
Ram: Can you see that father?
Naina: Ram please stop him from leaving, he's my only son.
Harshdeep: Stay calm Naina, your son will come back to his right senses soon. Let him be alone for a while.
Naina: But father,a where will he go?
Harshdeep: I have no idea, but he will come home soon I'm sure.
Naina: (angry) If anything bad happens to my son, then I won't hesitate to leave this house as well. (Walks out of the living room up the stairs)
Ram: You aren't going to do that Naina. Nothing will happen to our son. (Faces his mother) Maa, I'm sorry but I cannot accept this decision of yours. I'm okay with my job. (Leaves the living room angrily)

Harshdeep: (Shocked) Can you see that Raavi, you're going to destroy this family because of your selfishness.
Raavi: (Blurts out) As long as I'm alive, Shreya's family will never know happiness.

Anshuman Sampath's house.
(Doorbell rings)

Anshuman: Who could it be at this time of the day?
Maya: Don't worry dad, I'll check who it is. (Leaves for the door and opens it to see the least person she expected) You? What are you doing here?
Palak: Who is it Maya?
Maya: (shuts the door immediately) it's no one mom.

(Doorbell rings again)

Palak: But the doorbell is ringing. I'll check.(opens the door to see Sameer standing)
Sameer: Namaste Aunt, it's me Sameer.
Anshuman: (Walking to the door) Who is it Palak?
Palak: it's Sameer
Sameer: Namaste uncle.
Anshuman: And what have you come here to do?
Sameer: (with folded hands) May I come in at least?
Anshuman: You aren't allowed in here. (Shouts and about to shut the door when Palak holds him)
Palak: (softly) Anshuman, let him in.
Sameer: Thanks aunt. (Smiles) I have come here to tell you all that I can't accept the position that grandfather has given to me. It rightly belongs to you uncle Anshuman and I can't take it. Please accept it back uncle.

Anshuman: (Shocked and looks away)
Manya: Father can't do that Sameer, please.
Maya: Yes Sameer and why have you suddenly had a change of heart? after all, the position was withdrew from him because of you and now you want him to accept it back? Only a weak person would do that and my father is not weak.
Palak: Look Sameer, my husband can't take back the post. We are very okay in our family thanks for your concern.
Anshuman: I think you've heard it all from my family, so please leave.

Shreya: (coming from behind) What's going on here? There's a ceremony and everyone is angry? (Recognizes Sameer) You? Sameer, you're here?
Sameer: Namaste grandmother (touches her feet)
Shreya: Bless you son (rubs Sameer's hair) What brings you here?
Sameer: Well... I
Maya: He only came to say Hello grandma.
Shreya: Oh really, that's so nice of you son. Come on, there's a ceremony going on, you can join us.
Sameer: No grandma, I'll be leaving now.
Shreya: Really, Alright then my child.
Sameer: Namaste (leaves the Anshuman Sampath's house and thinks while walking to his car) These people are very nice people, I don't know why grandmother doesn't like them. Anyway, I won't go back to that house until grandmother has a change of heart. I'll stay with Akshay instead. (Brings out his cellphone and dials Akshay, his friend's number)

Sameer: Hello Akshay. How are you doing?
Akshay: (from the other side) Hey Sameer, I'm good, what's up?
Sameer: Are you home? I'm coming down to your house now.
Akshay: Really, yes I'm home. I hope there's no problem.
Sameer: Not really man, just... (Explains the matter at hand to him)
Akshay: Oh man, that's hurting. No problem, I'll be waiting for you.
Sameer: sure, I'll be there.

At Akshay's House.
(Doorbell rings)

Akshay: (Goes to get the door) Come in Sameer, you're welcome.
Sameer: Hi man, thanks for taking me in.
Akshay: (smiles and hugs Sameer) The pleasure is mine. (Helps Sameer with his travel box)
Akshay: Dad, mom, grandma, this is my friend Sameer, he'll be staying with us for a few days.
Sameer: Namaste everyone.
Akshay's father: No problem dear, How are you son? feel at home okay.
Sameer: (smiles) Thank you sir.
Akshay: Rashmi!
Rashmi: Yes Akshay, what now? (Coming down the stairs)
Akshay: Meet Sameer my friend, he'll be staying with us for a few days, Sameer meet my sister, Rashmi.
Rashmi: Hi Sameer, nice meeting you.
Sameer: Hi Rashmi, same here.
Rashmi: Welcome to our house (stares lovingly at Sameer)
Sameer: Thanks.
Akshay: Come on Sameer, I'll show you to the guest room.
Sameer: sure.

At Anshuman Sampath's house.
(It's night, everyone has settled to pass the night. Maya and Manya are not asleep)

Manya: Maya, Sameer told me about everything that happened between you two.
Maya: Yes Manya, and I was very angry with him.
Manya: I also was. He really upset me and now he wants us to make things up.
Maya: I'll actually forgive him because it's not his fault. Its our family's fault.
Manya: You don't have to worry sis, everything will be fine.
Maya: Yes Manya, I'm sure about that.
Manya: Come on, let's sleep.
