Dismissal; but we didn't hear the bell.
The scent of lunch cooking, we no longer could smell.
Instead, we heard rowdy students, exiting each block,
We got dismissed, but not as scheduled on the clock.March 13, 2020; the day my high school experience ended,
This caused a physiological breakdown, that can't be mended.
High School as we knew it ended,
And Covid began.
To complete a task, it would require our mask;
Using either, the wrist or the neck, they would take a temperature check,
And for the new normal to start, we had to sit six feet apart.High school, was no longer the same,
Otherwise from teaching and learning, sanitation, was the primary aim,
This everyone adapted to, to ensure that the virus was contained.First name Corona, Virus the last,
It has affected how every single human, completed each task.
Late nights on the streets, we could no longer roam,
And employees had to facilitate working from home.
Vaccine Production began, that's something new,
But I have to head off now, it's way past my curfew.Tremar Ivey
