Acceptance

You turned my love into sorrow,
My heart you threw away.
Not looking forward to tomorrow,
Because you destroyed yesterday.
You said you were moving on and I should let you be,
Because there is a wide world out there, that you wanted to see.
Usually I'd hold on, and would not let you go,
But this time I gave you the paddles, and you began to row.
Searching for a poem, to describe my fight,
Couldn't find any, so this one I'll write.
You moved on with your life,
And I wished you all the best,
I continued living mine, and history tells the rest.
Finally at my pinnacle, an epitome of Success,
I'm living my best life, one with no regrets.
To be honest, I almost forgot about you,
Breaking my heart.
Almost forgot the phase I went through,
Don't even know where to start.
But I've learnt to value my personal happiness and peace of mind,
As moving on is accepting that it's now behind.
You we're like a flower, and I was a bee
That fell for your pollen, like leaves from a tree.
But it was inevitable to leave, as you can see,
That all roads you took, led you right back to me.
As Dorothy may have said " There's no place like home"
You wanted to see the world, so continue to roam.
