she can no longer sing
she can no longer open her eyes
without shedding a tearshe can barely move
paralyzed in her own grief
from a loss so consuminghe took what was hers without
a single thought of how it might hurt herhe likes to see her in pain
he likes that her smile has faded
her laugh nowhere to be found
the light that once filled her eyes
is burned out and to never reigniteshe was his puppet on strings
until he cut her loose
