soft, kind, gentle
her wings pierce through her back
skin tearing open to spread her beautiful white wings
loose feathers flutter to the ground
covering them in ash and forgotten memories
she must endure the pain in order to fly
she keeps her head held high
her heart broken but still glistening gold
the debris on her wings
begins to turn them black
but she continues to fly
because she won't give up this time
