Every now and then the lightening would strike the night sky and Raghav would get a glimpse of Pallavi's sleeping face. Her lips were slightly parted and the strands of her hair were sprawled across her face. "God she's beautiful." He softly whispered as he pushed the hair off her face gently.
He tried not to flinch every time he'd hear the thunder roar in the sky. He hated thunderstorms. He knew it was childish of him, that a man like Raghav Rao would be terrified of something so little. In fact he was rather embarrassed by it. Unable to fall asleep, he thought about getting up to finish some work. However, he decided against it, as he knew if he made the slightest movement his sleeping beauty would wake up. Lost in his thoughts he closed his eyes.
Suddenly he heard a loud BOOM! Another roar of thunder hit the sky. He thought he was being still but clearly he was not as he felt the grip around his waist tighten. He felt a warm breath on his neck, he knew she was awake.
"You okay, Raghav?" She asked him, her voice still raspy from sleep. She rubbed her face against his neck, pressing a sweet kiss following straight after.
He bit his lip clearing his throat. He didn't want to worry her. Pallavi rarely got any sleep nowadays because of the work load at her shop. He knew she needed every hour of sleep she could get.
"Yeah, Sweetheart, I'm fine. Go back to sleep." He said sweetly.
She breathed deeply, and then it went silent. He thought she was asleep until he heard her raspy voice hit the silent air again."What's wrong?" She asked, sincerity laced in her voice.
Raghav shook his head, not wanting to let her know of his childish behaviour "nothing my love."
BOOM! Thunder roared the sky again, and he couldn't help but let out a little flinch.Although you could hear the tiredness in her voice, Raghav could hear the smile in her tone. " Darling, are you scared of thunderstorms?"
"What? No, Pallavi, that's ridiculous. I'm not a child. I'm the Raghav Rao, and he isn't scared of anything."
He huffed, wriggling out of her grip.
The cold sheets hit his body almost immediately and he suddenly missed her warmth. Being the stubborn man that he is, he refused to give in. "Now go to sleep palls."She let out a chuckle and turned her back to him. "Alright, fine by me Ghamandi Rao."
His mouth hung open. " she really isn't going to leave me here, right? What a wife." He scoffed murmuring quietly under his breath.
He tried to snuggle as deep into the covers as he could but nothing was warmer than Pallavi. At this point Raghav was annoyed at himself for letting his big ego come in the way.
BOOM! He shut his eyes tight, trying to think of his happy place. Suddenly, he felt an arm around his waist and his eyes flew open. Raghav could feel Pallavi smiling against his neck, but he didn't care to push her away. She was warm, safe and cuddly.
"Sweetheart?""Hmmmm?" She hummed softly against his neck.
The vibrations from her voice transferred to his neck and he got butterflies." I am scared of thunderstorms. I know it's childish, but-" he wanted to explain that he's not as childish as his actions are right now. She interrupted him before he could finish his sentence.
"Awwh, my baby is afraid of thunder. Tum na Ghamandi Rao nahi, Cute Rao ho." She mumbled whilst pinching his cheek.
"Shut up," he whined, trying to fight of the grin that threatened to form on his lips.He turned around so they were facing each other. Her eyes still closed but she still spoke.
"Babe, if you were scared you could have just told me. It's nice to know that the Raghav Rao Don of Hyderabad, is scared of something. I would have cuddled you all through the night."
He buried his head into her chest, wrapping his arms around her waist tightly. He smiled against her chest, letting out a muffled reply. "You're so cheesy Pallavi."
"I know you love it." She replied smiling softly against his neck.
Raghav could tell she was falling back asleep, her chest falling evenly up and down.
"That's how Pallavi is, she always teases me but always shows me how much she loves and cares for me." He said in his head, smiling. He pressed a soft kiss on her chest. He didn't want to bother her much more but he had to let her know.
"Sweetheart?"
"Hmmm?" She replied sleepily.
Raghav smiled admiring her peaceful face.
" I love you." He stated quietly.
She pulled him closer to her, pressing a kiss on his forehead. She murmured a soft reply, " I know, get some sleep loser. Oh and I love you too."
