Arranged Marriage pt 17

Raghav's pov

In the middle of the night, i woke up to the sound of tossing and turning. I looked to my right and saw Pallavi muttering under her breath. 

"s-stay away from m-me." she murmured.

I turned on the lights to see her squirming in the sheets as sweat beads began to form on her temple. I tried waking her up but she was out of it.

"don't touch me, let me go please." she croaked out.

I will not spare him.

"Pallavi" I said.

she was still muttering things.

"Pallavi... sweetheart, wake up. It's just a bad dream." I said softly.

"Don't hurt me pl-please." she sobbed.

"no one is going to hurt you my love. its just me here." I said shaking her gently.

She opened her eyes and her face was already covered in tears. She looked at me in fear as her breathing became uneven. 

I grabbed some tissues from the nightstand and wiped her tears. She flinched at my touch and it made my heart crack. She kept on mumbling that she's scared and that he's going to hurt her.

I sat her on my lap and instantly wrapped my arms around her. She was shaking so I gently caressed her hair knowing it would calm her down a bit. 

"Baby... you're alright. Nothings going to happen to you." I said soothingly.

"R-Raghav I'm so sc-scared he's going to hurt me again. I don't want him to touch me again." She mumbled against my neck.

my blood boiled just thinking about what she had gone through.

"Shhh, no need to be scared. I'm right here with you... I won't let anything happen to you. I promise." I cooed as I placed little kisses on her hair assuring her she's safe.

I sat there with her in my arms not letting her go. By this time I was certain my shirt was drenched in tears but I did not care. I wanted her to let it all out. 

My baby is so fragile and it is breaking me.

I drew little patterns on her back to calm her nerves and it seemed to be working. Her breathing started to calm down and she had eventually stopped crying. Only a few sniffles were heard occasionally. 

"Baby?" I said softly.

"hmmm" she said weakly.

I pulled away from her slightly just to look into her eyes. She looked at me and gave me a faint smile.

she's trying her level best... but she doesn't need to pretend with me.

I cupped her face gently letting my thumbs run across her cheeks soothingly.

" I'm not going to force you but did you want to talk about what happened?" I asked gently.

her face dropped once again.

" it's okay if you don't want too, I completely understand. but I just thought it would be healthier for you to say what you're feeling instead of bottling up your emotions completely. Keeping this inside of you is only going to affect your health.... and I don't want that to happen." I said softly. 

she closed her eyes for a moment before taking in a breath. 

I think I just crossed my boundaries... shit.

" take all the time you need, I won't force nor will I rush you my love. I just don't want you to think that you're alone in this. I'm always here for you no matter what the situation is... I promise." I said before kissing her temple.
