It has been a rough morning so far for Pallavi. She's nine weeks along now and her morning sickness is worse than before. Her days consist of being more tired than before. Her mood swings heighten in the middle of the night which results in Raghav attending to her every need. She feels bad for seeing her husband run after her no matter how absurd her needs are. She can tell that her husband has also had sleepless nights due to her. She has told Raghav not to worry about her and get some sleep. However, Raghav always reassures her that he's fine. She feels truly best to have a husband like him. For the past nine weeks Raghav has not let her lift a finger. He starts his day with her by his side and ends the day like that too.No matter how deep of a sleep he may be in, he would always wake up in the middle of the night to console her from her bad dreams. He would get up at 3am knowing specifically that she would ask him to get her, her favourite ice-cream. He even stopped attending his office. He works from home now. Despite Pallavi assuring him that she'll be fine, he'd rather work from home than not see her for the whole day. Not going to lie, the past weeks have not been easy for him.
His Saree Ka Dukaan would literally drive him crazy. Her mood swings were wild. From being angry and not talking to him to being so affectionate towards him. Raghav did not mind. It didn't matter to him how crazy she would drive him because at the end of the day, he loves her more than words could describe. He would be with her through thick and thin.
Both of them snapped out of their thoughts when the doctor called them in."How do you feel?" Raghav asked Pallavi as he helped her lie back onto the bed in the doctors room.
Even though she still didn't feel great, she was really excited to see their baby for the first time today. She was over the moon. Raghav had to literally hold onto her in the waiting room as she could not keep still.
"A little better than I did before we got here." She replied back softly.
Raghav smiled and kissed her hand gently.
" I'm so excited Raghav, I literally can't wait any longer, can the doctor hurry up." She said grinning huffing the last part out.
Raghav brushed the tip of his nose against hers and then placed a soft kiss on her temple lovingly. "You and me both, Sweetheart."
They heard a knock on the door before it opened."Hello, Mr and Mrs Rao. It's nice to see you both, I'm sorry it took me a few minutes but I'm sure you both are getting antsy about seeing your little bundle of joy for the first time today." The doctor said chuckling.
The soon to be parents nodded as the doctor made his way to them. "Well I won't make you wait any longer, Mrs Rao would you please lift up your shirt for me." He said nicely.
Doing so, the doctor squirted the gel on her stomach and started to move the wand along her stomach. The cold contact of the gel made Pallavi shriek softly. Raghav chuckled at his wife's response, his grip on her hand tightened assuring her that the coldness would subside soon.
The image was fuzzy for a little moment. Raghvi waited impatiently as their anticipation grew and grew. And then they finally saw it.
"Oh is that our baby?" Both Raghav and Pallavi said at the same time. As they stared at what looked like a little pea on the screen.
The doctor smiled at the loving couple and said " yes, that is your baby, congratulations."
Raghvi gasped in awe. The baby was so small. So fragile and delicate. They looked at each other and they knew that this child will be so precious and that they would love their baby more than anything in the world.
"I would say that you have a February baby on your hands here."The doctor said which only made the couple's excitement grow even more.
"You have nothing to worry about, everything is going accordingly, the baby looks absolutely healthy." The doctor said calmly.Pallavi let out a breath of relief. Her excitement was uncontrollable. However deep down she was always a bit worried that something might not be right. For the first time in her life, she was overjoyed to be wrong.
"Would you like to hear the heartbeat?"
Raghav gasped and quickly said yes. He didn't even let Pallavi think about it, not that she would ever pass that up.
The doctor chuckled at his eagerness and just a couple of seconds later they heard it. It brought tears to their eyes. Raghav was not one to cry easily, but this had to be the most beautiful thing he's ever heard. The heartbeat was steady, it was perfect.
"Would you like some pictures?" Asked the doctor.
Raghvi nodded their heads as fast as they could " yes please as many as you can get us."
"Okay, I'll give you guys a moment whilst I go print off the pictures."
The doctor said as he left the room.Raghav let his head fall on Pallavi's shoulder, placing a soft kiss against the crook of her neck as they both stared ahead at their little bundle of joy on the screen.
"We're really going to be parents Raghav, this is actually happening!"
She beamed in pure happiness. He placed his hand on her stomach, his thumb caressing it softly and said " I can't wait Sweetheart, I'm so excited to meet the symbol of our love, I love you so much Pallavi."
Holding onto him, Pallavi placed a kiss on his forehead, running her fingers through his hair, never wanting this moment to end.
"I love you too, both of you." She replied back lovingly.
