It was a cloudy afternoon, the weather was gloomy and it made Pallavi want to stay at home in her bed. Unfortunately for her she had to stay back at the DSE to complete the orders Raghav left for her. She gritted her teeth and let out a sigh of relief once she finished packing the last piece of the order up. Satisfied with her work she gathered her belongings and closed up the shop. She waited for the cab to arrive when she heard the thunder roar. " deva, I don't even have an umbrella with me, the cab is taking forever to arrive, I'm going to get drenched. Ghamandi Rao really had to put orders in for today. This man will drive me insane. Out of every shop in the world he just had to choose my shop to fulfill his orders. Ughhhhh." She huffed out as she felt droplets of rain running down her skin. She looked at her phone and saw that the cab cancelled on her. She sighed knowing she'd have to walk home. " the family has gone to visit some relatives so no one will be home anyways, I may as well enjoy the rain." She thought to herself, smiling.
Meanwhile, Raghav Rao had just finished an important meeting and was on his way home. But for some reason he decided to pay a visit to Pallavi just so he could see her drown in the workload he's given her. He smirked to himself as he took a turn into the street where DSE is. By this time the rain was pouring down heavy. Raghav didn't enjoy the rain much.
"Why would anyone like the rain, it makes you all wet and ruins your mood." He thought to himself as he pulled up. Still seated in his car, He looked out in front of him and he was mesmerised. In front of him was a girl completely drenched in a yellow saree. Her arms where extended out as she closed her eyes giggling as the rain showered down her skin. She looked so carefree. All her worries were non existent at that point. Raghav didn't even realise that he him self was smiling whilst looking at her in awe.
" so this is what Ms Deshmukh looks like when she's happy, maybe rain isn't so bad after all. Happiness is a good look on her." He muttered to himself. Before he knew it he was out of his car. The Raghav Rao who never liked getting drenched in the rain, was now soaked. He leaned against the bonnet of his car as he watched Pallavi live in the moment. He didn't know why but somehow his feet took him towards Pallavi.
Pallavi was having the time of her life. She had never felt so free. She spun herself around once again but this time she slipped and was about to hit the cold floor until she felt a pair of strong hands wrap around her petite waist. She gasped softly at the contact of his rough hands around her soft skin, her eyes closed.
" easy Sweetheart, we don't want you hurting yourself, now do we?" She heard a husky voice say. She opened her eyes slowly only to see her enemy Raghav Rao. She blushed as she looked down not wanting to face him. "Thank you," she muttered softly.
He chuckled at her reaction, he liked having this kind of affect on her. Raghav pulled her up swiftly only for them to be closer than they were before. Her hands landed on his chest as her hair came undone from the pull. Her hair cascaded down just as swiftly as the way he pulled her up. Despite the rain, he could still smell the lavender scent in her hair. He secretly inhaled it in smiling to himself as his grip on her waist tightened.
Just the mere touch of Raghav would make Pallavi's heart race and their proximity right now wasn't helping her at all. She felt weak to her knees. She tried to compose herself and said " are you planning on letting me go anytime soon?"
Raghav then realised how close they were " I don't intend to let you go ever Saree ka dukaan." He whispered as his eyes looked down to her parted lips. At that moment her heart stopped, "was this really happening?" She thought to herself.
No matter how much she tried to hate him, he would end up doing things that would make her fall for him instead. The fact is that she desperately wishes he would kiss her right there and then. But she knows she's not his type.
She sighed to herself and tried to get out of his grip. Raghav chuckled at her attempt and slowly eased her out of his grip. As soon as they left each other's touch they both felt a sense of loss. They wouldn't admit to themselves but deep down they knew what they felt. Pallavi walked away from him as she waited for another cab to arrive.
In that moment she took in his appearance. He was in a white shirt that was now see through with his blazer draped over his shoulder . You could see his toned body and his muscles flex every time he'd move. Her mind thought about things that she shouldn't be thinking about. To say the least she was really flustered.
Raghav on the other hand went up to Pallavi again. But this time he really took in what she looked like. Her curly hair was drenched as it rested past her hips. The yellow saree clung onto her drenched skin so tightly. She looked like a goddess. A girl in a saree definitely was not his type. But the way Pallavi pulls the look off makes him want her more. "The things I would to do her I had the chance." He said in his mind as he stood in front of her. They knew the effect they have on each other. They were just hell bent on not confessing. She was staring at him in a trance until he said " stop doing that."
" stop doing what?" She asked confused." stop biting your lips, it makes it so hard for me to concentrate." He said as he pushed her up against the wall.
She gasped as her back touched the cold surface. " I'm sorry," she whispered softly
"Don't be sorry sweetheart, you look extremely hot whilst doing it, however my mind flashes through things that you don't even know of, and I don't want to corrupt your pretty little mind." He said seductively as he leaned into her, their lips just a centimetre apart
She closed her eyes as she gulped softly waiting for his lips on hers. His lips grazed hers gently only to be pulled away.
She opened her eyes looking at him in dissatisfaction. He smirked and said " glad to know you want the same thing sweetheart. No need to be glum your day will come really soon."
She was flustered once again. "Raghav" she said in shock knowing what he meant by that.
" you look cute when you blush, I know we haven't gotten along just fine. But you're driving me crazy, you lure me in and I'm so intrigued by you. I feel this spark between us and I know you feel it too. I want to kiss you so bad, like you have no idea but I know you're not one to get intimate with without being in a relationship. So I want to do it the right way, I want to take things slow. So can we start off by going on a date?" He said as he scratched the back of his neck due to the nerves.
She chuckled at his behaviour, " I never knew Raghav Rao Don of Hyderabad could get so nervous. And out of every one in the world he gets nervous around me, not gonna lie, I'm enjoying it thoroughly." She giggled
" what can I say, you have this affect on me Saree Ka Dukaan, I'm a changed man when I'm around you." He said sheepishly.
She leaned forward and placed a kiss on his cheek and said " I'd be enlightened to go on a date with you Mr. Raghav Rao."
He hugged her tightly and said " I'll pick you up at 8."
"It's a date." She replied back
They had forgotten that they were in the middle of the street until a car honked behind them. They turned around looking at the man behind the wheel. Pallavi didn't notice it but Raghav noticed the way the man was staring at her. He felt his heart pang in jealousy and his blood boiled. Raghav took a look at Pallavi and saw that her Drenched saree was outlining her figure. He took off his blazer and protectively wrapped it around her. She looked at him confused as they sat back in the car.
Raghav held her hand as he drove off and said " I don't like sharing what's mine, only I have the right to check out what's mine. And you are mine Palls baby."
She blushed again her stomach filled up with butterflies as she looked out the window grateful for today's rainy day.
Raghav was on his way back home after dropping her off at hers and for the first time in his life he was grateful for it to rain.
