I'd like to believe that life is perfect. That rumors weren't real. When I go to sleep at night, I want to have normal dreams and ambitions. Because I was just a woman. I've struggled in many ways possible. I fall. But, get up. Maybe next time I will choose my destiny.

I am still here, in a room full of empty chairs. Shadows casting over the walls. Dark and cold. My legs fold, one hand with a wand while the other curled up in a ball, laying on the flat table. Every day I want to sit here and wait. Each minute that passes, I wonder what made me clueless. Pinpoint days where I utterly screwed up. I never understood why my mind worked sometimes. Perhaps in a different world, I would see through the bullseye.

The results of being me? Well, let me show you my story. A story of the interaction between searching for love and drifting from it.

Because I Aurora Pierce, was in love with an assassin.

Severus walked alone every night after going to the pub or just anywhere except his house in general. The company of anyone didn't enter his mind. He didn't like conversations and he certainly didn't like being bothered with his personal life.

He walked along with the castle, in quiet peace. The words relaxation entered his mind. Though he wasn't very fond of such words. Come to think of it, many things weren't his element.

His hands raised to his eyes to inspect them. Still—Severus could feel the warmth. Heart-wrenching fire. He told himself he wouldn't get involved with her. He said that he would never be jealous or hurt.

Well, look at him now. Completely and entirely starstruck. He caught a man touching her.

She's mine. He wanted badly to speak.

That man had it coming. Severus made sure to show him all the ways he'd tortured him. Scenarios after scenarios ran through the man's brain in such fast motion, the black-hooded fellow leaped away from her fast.

Severus could only recall doing such destructive acts a few times during his dark era. This feeling was slowly getting back running and to him to protect her. Not because she was part of the Hogwarts community but because Aurora was so much more to him.

A thump of his heart started to leap with each of his steps. Years of building up an embankment, only to have one small person break it down. Shielded by visions of her. The hope in his mind to once be able to hold her hand. Even if it was just for a minute.

Even such for a second.

And feel that softness grazes against his hard crude palms. A man could only wish. An everlasting part of him yearned for just a small smile on her face. That's all he wanted today.

Yet, he couldn't—shouldn't talk to her today. Not in his angry state. Severus remembered her wanting to speak with him later tonight but he just couldn't. His temper was too far beyond to think start. He'd hope she wouldn't come tonight.

Severus memorized he needed to collect the rest of his papers, to proceed with his grading at home. With one final step, he made it to his classroom door, unlocking it with the swish of his wand.

Cold.

Empty—

Her.
