Planting gardens in graves volume 2 by r.h sin

Everything I witnessed
as a child who was supposed to be
too young to remember certain things
had molded me into the adult
that shouldn't be
the screaming and yelling the tension and resentment
all the things I thought were normal
the same I was content with
Within my relationships
The drama I accepted
The abuse I didn't mind
Yet not knowing what real love was
It's time to unlearn
The teachings of what I witnessed
In incapable people
Of loving each other
My parents

Both Aurora Pierce and Severus Snape wrote this poetry in a journal.

Past

She was the girl sitting alone. Waiting for her husband to come. He told her to sit and shut her mouth. That she did. She had to.

Or else he'd punish her. Hurt her for mistakes he made. The young girl felt weak.

She had been degraded her whole life. It started with her parents, ending with a man that trapped her.

She sits on the chair, the words from her husband echoing in her head.

"You will not look at any man here."

"That mouth will speak only when told."

She nodded.

Her chin wobbled, tears began to spill. Stop this. Someone help her. She's trapped.

No one is prepared to meet the love of their life. Partially because many aspects can intervene. It's foolish yet those individuals need a certain something to push them in a direction they must face.

When you meet them it's as if sparks flick between both parties. It was like reading your favorite book for the very first time.

Severus was frozen to the brim. His eyes faced the ceiling, memories the designs on the walls. It was bright this morning. The air felt cleaner and welcoming. He felt as if his body was new and he had been brought into this world yesterday. His patient mind lay on his bed not bothering to get up and change last night's clothes. He didn't bother with his night routine or even worked out for that matter.

Severus simply went to bed with a smile on his bloody face. Didn't even bother to cover himself with the sheets or pull his wand under his dark pillows.

The man simply lay frigid, gawking at the ceiling. Watching at the beauty that unleashed a part of him.

What hurt him most was his cowardice. To think that he could kiss a woman and have a conversation after.

No.

He walked away.

Because a part of him was terrified she'd say it was a mistake.

The pain would never go away when the person you loved most abandons you when you needed them.

Severus Snape was a coward.

Can't a man have emotions? Can't a man have issues?

He'd hope she would understand.

Severus remembered his father telling him that one day he'd grow tired of loving people—or someone.

His father was completely and stupidly wrong.

What a ridiculous man he was.

Severus brought his fingers onto his lips, feeling the burning sensation.
