What an odd feeling It was for Aurora to be sitting in the middle next to Severus and Lupin on a long but narrow couch in the staff room. Albus had the Professors stand by while others began to fill the room.

One man has a bright smile on his face while the other had a scowl cast. She felt particularly bad for Lupin as he just wanted to get along with the man in all handsome black next to her.

Amusement reached her face, looking between the both of them. Two completely different people.

Remus blinked, turning his head. "How has your evening been so far Severus?"

"Why must you speak." Severus deadpanned, eyes cold.

She should have seen this coming considering that Severus was never in the best mood with him around, or. . . . with anyone for that matter.

Lupin kept his composure, leaning towards Severus, well—Aurora. "I'm curious, that is all. Your mood has been brighter each day I see you. That's very good."

That's very good? As if he needed a babysitter watching over his moods.

Severus despised the way Lupin talked to him as if he were a child. Almost in the way Albus did. He was five times bigger and stronger than Lupin yet he still spoke so little to him.

Aurora cleared her throat, reaching Severus's eyes. "Are you enjoying your coffee?"

"I am. Thank you." He spoke softer, never once leaving her face.

Lupin frowned. "So you pick the people you choose to be nice to?"

The man might as well should of said, your nice to her but not me?

Yes, you complete idiotic rodent I love her not you.

He chooses not to respond.

Three seconds passed.

Nope, he needed to do it.

"Yes, Lupin I choose who I want for my perfectly charming politeness."

Aurora runs her tongue against her teeth trying desperately not to smile. This wasn't a joking matter.

"I'm completely touched." Lupin responded in the lower voice, setting his body back into the couch.

Oh no. The sarcasm came out of both of them.

Lupin flinch's as Aurora assaults him with her small handbag.

"Will you stop?" She smiles, dragging her bag against her lap, the handles grazed Severus's thigh.

"Oh, you bark at me but not to him?"

Severus flattened his thick long sleeve giving no attention to Lupin.

"She can do whatever she wants Lupin. Keep that loud mouth shut." Severus retorted back, swallowing his drink without breaking eye contact.

Severus hated when Lupin stood between them. Why did she have to playfully smack him around, while twisting her little eyes merrily. It irked him most of all when he persuaded her back.

He didn't like the way he looked at her.

No one sees her the way Severus did.
