Mack tied his tie and slipped on his suit jacket. He tried combing his hair back as best he could.

He missed labor. He knows it sounds weird but it was so simple and he was already strong. All he had to do was lift one thing and put it somewhere else even though the pay wasn't worth it. Now he has jobs where he has to wear a suit to work. He has a computer. His previous boss said this might be a good place for him and he hoped he was right. He hadn't met the CEO yet but he hoped for the best. He pictured him as some kind 50-70 year old family man.

He made it outside and found where he'd parked his truck then hopped in.

The drive was 15 minutes if there wasn't traffic.

The entire time he'd tap onto the steering wheel and hum along to his music to keep calm. He didn't even eat breakfast because he felt it would just come back up whenever he got nervous and that would be the worst first impression ever.

"Hey, man. We're out of yogurt." Michael said as he walked into Dominic's room.
Dominic was buttoning his dress shirt. "Stop saying 'we' like you live here."
"Well, I might as well. I'm here more than I'm at home. I hate it there."
"Yea. Did you take your medicine today?"
Michael didn't answer.
"Michael." Dominic called.
"Hm?"
"Did you take your medicine today?" he repeated strictly as he tucked his shirt in then buckled his belt.
"I don't like the way it tastes..." Michael said as he looked at the floor.

Michael may be 16 but he acts like a toddler when it came down to his medication.

"I told you to just take it with orange juice." Dominic said as he threw on his suit jacket. "It's a pill. You're not even supposed to be able to taste it."

Michael keeps his medication at Dominic's place because if he doesn't, his mother and probably his father will use it for other reasons. And Dominic believes he has more self control than that.

"Do I have to?" Michael asked.
"I mean you don't have to but I don't see how you'll get anything done if you don't. How do you plan on focusing?"
"Trying really hard."
Dominic rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Don't touch my shit and stay out of trouble. I'm not leavin' work to save your ass again." he stated as he grabbed his keys.
"See, you say that every time but you've left work like four times to save my ass so..."
"Shut up and stay out of trouble, asshole."
"Can I order pizza?" Michael asked.

Dominic thought about it.

"When was the last time you ate?" he asked.
"Umm...What's today?"
"Wednesday."
"Sunday."

Dominic hated how comfortable Michael's body was with not eating.

"Yea, order it." he permitted.
"Do you want anything?"
"Nah, I don't want anything."
"Are you gonna be gone all day?"
"For most of it, why?"
"I was just wondering. I'll go home once the pizza gets here. Is your day busy?"
"Uhh...Same as usual. I think I gotta interview some woman but that's it."
"Oh okay. Well, have a nice day." Michael smiled.
"Yea. You too, kid."

Dominic left out of the door.

Michael was a really good and trustworthy kid. He'd never stolen from Dominic, he always asks before taking, he wasn't rowdy he was just hyper, he never touched anything he wasn't supposed to. He just wanted food and sleeping arrangements.

As long as he wasn't there when Dominic had over a...companion...then he didn't care.

Mack made it to the building and had five minutes to spare so he spent it giving himself a pep talk.

"Okay. Everything's going to be fine. You got this. You just walk in there. Tell them who you're here to see. And you answer every question to the best of your abilities. And please don't whisper." he begged himself.

He had a habit of talking so quietly it was almost a whisper whenever he met new people. He was just always so nervous.

He got out of the truck and walked towards the entrance.

"Um...Hello." he greeted the front desk.
"Hi." she smiled.
"I have an...um..." he cleared his throat. "An interview with M-Mr...Miller?"
"For what time?"
"11:30." It was 11:27 at the moment.
"Okay, after you sign in here, he'll be on the top floor and his office is behind the double doors." she stated and slid him a sheet of paper on a clipboard.

He signed it quickly then gave her a kind nod before heading off to the elevator.

He stood and tapped his foot impatiently as he waited for the elevator doors to finally open.

When they did he clicked the floor's button and waited.

His pep talk continued in his head as he got out and walked to the double doors on the floor.

He knocked softly.

You got this. He thought to himself. Smooth sailing.

The door opened.

Standing before him was not at all what he pictured. He expected some short and old guy but instead he got some young and really attractive playboy in an all black suit without a tie.

"Um...H-Hello. I'm sorry, I was l-.....looking for...Mr. Miller. The lady downstairs said it was th-this set of doors-..."
"That's me." Dominic answered.
"Oh...I'm sorry...I was expecting-..."
"Some old guy?" Dominic asked.
"I'm sorry..."
"It's fine. I get that a lot. I think half of you keep expecting my father. He doesn't run this joint anymore and it's only been a few months so I don't expect word to get around that fast."
"Oh...yea...that makes s-sense..."

Dominic looked at the large guy in front of him.

He was tall and looked like he could throw a grown man but he spoke quietly and stuttered. He also didn't hold eye contact for long periods of time. He'd look in Dominic's eyes as Dominic spoke but when he himself spoke, Mack looked down at the floor or to the side. Dominic thought it was kind of funny for such a large guy to be so shy.

I bet you hate the attention you get. Dominic thought to himself as he noticed how broad and handsome Mack was.

"Come in." Dominic instructed and moved out of the way so Mack could walk inside. He closed the door behind him and walked to his desk as Mack took a seat.
"What can I help you with?" Dom asked.
"Um...I uhh..." he took a deep breath to gather his thoughts and stop stuttering. "I had an interview scheduled with you today..."

Dominic's brows furrowed in confusion.

He looked at his calendar.

"Are you sure? 'Cause all I got is an interview for a Mackenzy Watts. And...what was your name again?" Dominic asked and looked back at Mack.
"Um...I'm Mackenzy...I-I prefer Mack...if th-that's okay."
"Oh...shit. Sorry."
"It's fine. Happens a lot."

We're off to a great start. They both thought sarcastically.
