Dominic woke up in the middle of the night after a nightmare.
He wasn't in that deep of sleep anyway but he shot out of bed and began walking throughout Mack's home."I can't keep doing this." he claimed. "It's not working."
"You have to have something here." he said quietly. "Something. Anything. Please. You have to."
He knew Mack would probably get tired of Dominic tearing apart his kitchen and bathroom looking for meds but it wouldn't stop him. A part of him also knew that Mack was smart enough to not buy more medication and house it in the same place as a drug addict going through withdrawal, but he hoped for his sake that Mack was just a little bit dumb.
He went into the bathroom and opened the cabinets.
"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" he shouted and slammed its doors.
Mack woke up from his yelling and noticed the lights on.
Not again... he thought.
Dominic laid on the floor in the fetal position, shivering.
Mack got up and wiped over his face. He walked towards the lit bathroom and saw Dominic laying there.
He crouched down and pulled Dominic to sit up."I can't do this. I can't do it." Dominic cried.
"Yes, you can. Come on."
"No, no, let me go. Go get it!"
Mack had pulled the two to stand. "Go get what?"
"Anything! Get anything! Let me go! I can't do this. Let me go."
"Come on, let's lay down." Mack tried pulling them into the bedroom.
"NO!" Dominic shouted. "Mackenzy, I can't do this anymore. Just...Just give them to me. I'll leave. I can leave and you won't have to worry about me just...just give me something. Everything hurts. I don't want it to hurt." he cried."Do you want me to beg? I'll beg. I promise. Please. You can kick me out afterwards. Just give it! Give it to me!" he pleaded and got down on his knees.
Mack crouched down. "I can't do that. I want you to get better."
"No! No, you don't! Because you're torturing me! You're why I'm in pain! Because you won't fucking give it to me! Just give it!" he punched the floor repeatedly in anger.
Mack gently grabbed onto Dominic's hand and held it. He used his other hand to bring Dominic's face to him and he kissed it softly.
"I'm sorry you're in pain. I wish I could take it away. I wish I could make you feel better." He kissed under Dominic's eye as Dominic's sobbed quietly.
"You can...just give me the drugs, Mack. Please..."
"I can't, baby. I'm sorry." He held Dominic in his arms as Dom laid on his shoulder completely saddened by not being able to change Mack's mind."I'm so tired..." Dominic stated.
"I know. We'll figure it out, I promise. You're gonna get clean."____________________________________
Mack rolled around the grocery store with Dominic next to him.
He actually wished Dominic could be laying in bed right now, but he unfortunately couldn't trust Dominic enough to not run off and try to find some sort of drug to make his frustrations go away.
Instead, Dominic wore a hoodie and sweatpants, his arms in the pockets and the hood over his head with a pair of sunglasses covering his eyes as the two walked throughout the grocery store looking for whatever it was that Mack usually ate and whatever he thought Dominic should begin eating."You like pasta, right? I can make you pasta." Mack offered.
"I don't care, Mack."
Mack took a deep breath as he looked at the different kinds of noodles."Do you crave any specific meal that you might want? I feel like I haven't been cooking enough so if you have any ideas, I'm all ears." He grabbed penne and placed it into the cart.
Dominic stayed silent.
"Let's get you some water and maybe fruit juices. I think those are pretty important. Vitamins and stuff since I know you don't really want to go outside."
Dominic just followed behind as Mack spoke to himself.Dominic wished he was inside of Mack's apartment, wallowing in bed and falling asleep in hopes it would get his mind off of his cravings. Instead they were inside of a loud grocery store with broken carts, crying children, people on phone calls, and registers beeping. He wasn't in the mood at all and if another child runs through the aisle he and Mack are in, he's gonna kick it.
"You don't have any food allergies, right?" Mack looked at Dominic and asked.
"No."
"Okay, so anything works. That's good. I feel like I should have asked you that a while ago. I'm sorry."
"It doesn't matter. I'm not allergic to anything." Dominic replied.
"True, I guess."Mack looked at all of the juice options.
A family of five with three children came down the aisle and the children were begging for different items that they saw. Begging loudly. Their parents turned down their pleas even louder.
Dominic looked at the shelves that he felt like banging his head against.
"Do you like cranberry juice?" Mack asked.
Dominic took a step closer and fulfilled his own wish by repeatedly hitting his head against the metal shelf.Mack slid his hand under Dominic's forehead and caught it.
"Please answer my question. Or are you more of an apple kind of guy?"
Dominic turned his head and laid his face in Mack's hand.
Mack's thumb gently caressed his skin."Cranberry." Dominic answered.
