"Where is it?" Dominic asked as he drove on his way back home.
"I umm..."
"Don't 'I umm' me, Pat. Where the fuck is my money?"
"I...I have most of it..."
"Oh you have most of it?" Dominic repeated sweetly.
"Yes. Yes, sir. I do."
"Oh okay. Well, meet me at our usual spot with the most and I'll take that and give you a week to get the rest, all right?"
"Yes! Oh my god, thank you! I'll have it to you in the next thirty minutes!"
"Make it twenty."
"Twenty. Right. Yes. Okay."

Dominic hung up.
He had no intention of keeping that promise.

He pulled up to the side of the street and waited a few seconds with his window down.

"HEY!" Michael greeted with a wide smile as he found Dominic's window.
"Hey, kid."
"How was your day?"
"Pretty okay. Guess what."
"What?" Michael asked.
"The woman I told you I had to interview?"
"Yea?"
"It was a guy."
"Really? How do you get that confused?"
"His name is Mackenzy." Dominic explained.
"Ohhhh...weird."
"Right."

"Hey! I didn't get in trouble today and I even helped that lady at the sandwich shop sweep her floors." Michael smiled.
"Good shit, kid. You go home today?"
"I did but I didn't stay long. My mom was knocked out on the couch and I got no idea where my dad is. They didn't have any food so I gave them the rest of the pizza I ordered earlier."
"Hm. How kind of you."
"Thanks."
"What're you doin'?" Dominic asked him.
"Umm...Nothing right now. I might try to finesse a hotdog from the guy across the street. What about you?"

Dominic just sighed and went into his back pocket. He pulled out his wallet and gave Michael a ten dollar bill.

"Use it wisely, dickhead."
"Thanks, man!" Michael replied enthusiastically.
"I gotta run some errands. Be safe. Don't take shit from strangers and don't get in any fuckin' fights either, alright? I got shit to do and can't run back here to save your ass. You'll just have to get fucked up."
"Got it. I'll stay to myself."
"Alright. I'll check on you in a few hours probably. We meet at this same spot. Which means what?"
"Don't go too far or else you'll shoot me in my foot." Michael sighed.
"Exactly. Now move before I run you over."

Michael backed away and Dominic drove off. He could see through his rear view mirror that Michael waved goodbye.

"Do you think I'll get it?" Mack asked Harley as he poured liquor into his glass.
"I think so. I don't see why not." he responded.
"Hm..."
"How'd it go? Could he hear you well? I heard it's like some 60 something year old man." Harley snickered.
"It was okay. And no, it's his son. Who...now that I think about it...looks around our age."
"Really?"
"Yea. He might be a little older, I don't know we never discussed age but he's not old. He's not even middle aged."
"Hm...Cool, I guess."

"He was a bit intimidating." Mack stated.
"Mack, you're intimidating." Harley scoffed.
"What? No, I'm not."
"Do you even know what you look like?"

Mack thought about it.

"If I didn't know you and I saw you in public, I'd bow my head to avoid eye contact. You're fucking huge and your voice is deep as hell! I'm surprised your boss isn't saying the same things about you as you are for him." Harley stated.

I thought I seemed pretty nice...Mack thought sweetly.

"So..." Harley began as he walked into the kitchen. His hand sliding across Mack's back. "You're not busy for the rest of the day?" he asked.
"No, but-..."
"I can give you something to do." he said and slipped in front of Mack, wrapping his arms around his neck.
"No, Harley." Mack said and removed his arms.
"But why not?" Harley pouted.
"You have a boyfriend. A good boyfriend. One who provides for you and does nothing wrong. You're just using me to get laid and I feel bad for him."
"But-..."
"I haven't heard you complain once about David except for when it's your bedroom experience. Just tell him how to get better. I'm not gonna keep being your toy to cheat with."

Harley looked away from Mack as he balled up his fists.

"If you only hang out with me to fuck then I won't be mad if you leave." Mack added and finished the rest of his drink.
"That's not why I hang out with you. I told you this already and I meant it." Harley responded and looked back at him.
"Okay then."
"Can you do me one last favor?" Harley asked.
"What is it?" Mack replied.
"Kiss me. Just one last time." Harley begged and his hands pressed against Mack's abdomen as he leaned in. "We'll stop afterwards. I promise."
Mack's eyes travelled to Harley's lips as they got closer.

The two pairs met.

Pat waited outside of his car while Dominic sat in his, parked next to him. They were in an abandoned grocery store parking lot where they knew there were zero cameras in sight.

Dominic listened to the rock song that played on his radio as his head was fallen back against his seat and his eyes were closed. Smoke filled the air in his car and he finally put the cigarette out.

He took a deep breath before turning his music down and rolling down his tinted window.

"That most of it?" Dominic asked and looked at the duffel bag on the ground.
"Y-Yes sir." Pat replied.

Dominic yawned and got out of his car.
He walked to the back and opened his trunk.

Pat followed with the duffel bag.
He threw it into the trunk.

"How much is most?" Dominic asked.
"Fifty-nine thousand."
"Out of seventy-five thousand?"
"Um...Yes."

"Hm." Dominic looked back at the bag in his trunk.

"You got any family, Patrick?" Dom asked.
"Um...No, sir. Not really."
"Well you just made this a whole lot easier, didn't you?" Dominic pulled his gun out of the back of his pants and shot Pat in his forehead.

He scratched the top of his head before closing the trunk and getting back into his car.

"Gave you seven years to have my money and you couldn't scrape up seventy five grand?" Dominic asked aloud to himself as he drove off. "Type of bullshit is that?"

He made it to a red light and looked in his glove compartment.

He stared at the pill bottle inside but closed it back up.
He felt that at the rate he was going today, he wasn't waking up tomorrow.
He thought of something else to help him wind down.

He grabbed onto his phone and scrolled through his contact list.

There you are, he thought.

"Hello?" answered the phone number.
"Where are you?" Dominic cut right to the chase.
"I'm at a bar right now. Why?"
"I need you."
