"Caramel or buttered popcorn?" Dominic asked from the kitchen.
"What's stopping you from making both?" Mack wondered as he swiped through movie options.
"I guess nothing." Dominic shrugged.

The two were both a bit tipsy and had just finished a light dinner before getting ready to watch what they agreed would be an action movie.

Dominic's phone began to ring with his father's contact.

"I chose which movie. It's a surprise though, a classic, so don't look at the screen." Mack said and Dominic noticed he'd walked into the kitchen. "What's going on over here?"
"Well, I was about to get started on it." he said referring to the popcorn before picking up his phone and answering.

"Hello?" Dominic greeted.
He showed Mack the contact and Mack nodded and gestured that he'd handle the popcorn.
The two gave each other a quick peck before Dominic walked off to Mack's room to speak to his father.

"Dominic?" Mr. Miller called.
"Yes?"
"What have you been doing?"
"I'm sorry?" Dominic questioned and shut the door.
"Have you been going to work?" his father asked.
"Yes? Well...I mean I took...a few days off..." he said when he remembered all of his detox and sobering days with Mack or while in the hospital.
"You took days off and our numbers still look like this?" his father wondered.
"What're you talking about?"
"Dominic, our stocks are through the roof! I've gotten four calls today from people who wanted to either buy the company or share it."
"Oh..."
His dad laughed. "I don't know what's gotten into you this week, boy, but keep it up!"
Dominic hadn't realized he'd done anything.

Well...

He did actually begin to show up to work on time. Mostly because he'd wake up excited to see Mackenzy.

He was no longer always tired so while he was in his office, instead of resting with his head on his desk, he'd actually do what he was supposed to.
He attended meetings and actually realized a lot of what people offered to him was either terrible or really good ideas, when he used to either not show up at all or just ignore everything they all said.

Mack had a degree in the same line of work so Dominic would ask him throughout the week to come over and help him when really it was just an excuse to spend time with him but the two would still get a lot of things done.

He wasn't high anymore and realized he was actually focusing better.
He wasn't tired.
He wasn't in pain.

He actually learned some of his employees' names.

"Thanks..." he said in confusion.
"I turned your card back on. Figured you earned it."
That was what Dominic wanted to hear.
"Thank you." he said with a smile.
"I'll talk to you tomorrow. I'm gonna have some questions about the changes you made. Clearly they were good ideas."
"Okay, yea."
The two hung up.

Dominic was ecstatic.

He forced Mack's bedroom door open and saw Mack eating the popcorn while leaning against the kitchen counter and scrolling on his phone.
Mack looked up in confusion. "Are you okay?"

Dominic walked quickly towards him and pulled his face in before kissing him hungrily.

"Oh? I'm not mad but what's got you so happy?" Mack snickered.
"My card is back on." Dominic smiled.
"Oh, good." Mack was confused but wanted to sound supportive.
"Which means I can buy more things." Dominic explained.
"Right..."
"For us."
"Great."

Dominic rolled his eyes and let Mack go.

"Whaaattt?" Mack laughed as Dominic walked away.
"You don't care."
"You're 100% right."
Dominic looked at him in shock.
"Not because I'm not happy for you! I'm very happy you can splurge for yourself again. But I'm not with you for your money so I didn't even completely realize your card was off..." he snickered.
"My father thought I had a spending problem so he turned it off." Dominic explained.
"Ah." Mack ate a piece of popcorn.

Dominic's eyes widened and he looked back at Mack.

"What?" Mack asked mid chew and ate another.

"I'm not on drugs..." Dominic stated.
"Right..."
"Mackenzy, I'm not on drugs!"
"I thought so too, but this outburst is making me question things, I'm not gonna lie." Mack joked.

Dominic's hands held his head.
"Do you know what this means?"
"That you're not on drugs?" Mack questioned.
"Be serious!" Dominic said and tried not to laugh.
"Okay, I'm sorry, I'm being very serious from now on but I'm so lost right now." Mack chuckled.
"Baby, I'm not on drugs anymore."
"And I'm so proud of you for it." Mack stated and ate another piece of popcorn.
"Which means..."
"I'm all ears..."
"I can spend money on things I didn't even dream of because I was too busy worrying about spending it on being high." Dominic smiled.
"Ohhhhh, okay, I see." Mack nodded.
"Yeaaa."
"So what're you gonna spend it on?" Mack wondered and switched which bowl of popcorn he was eating from.

Dominic paused and thought about it.

He looked at Mack.

"Go on a trip with me." he stated.
Mack choked on a kernel.

Dominic laughed.

"Wh-What?"
Dominic's brows furrowed.
"No, that wasn't the stuttering problem. I'm legitimately caught off guard." Mack explained.
Dominic laughed fondly again and walked over to Mack.

"You and me." he began.
"Unh huh..."
He wrapped his arms around Mack. "On a plane or a cruise, however you wanna get there."
"I'm listening."
"Italy. Mexico. Fiji. Greece. We'll decide that later. Just tell me yes." he explained and gave Mack a gentle kiss on the lips.
"Mm. And you are aware you're tipsy, correct?"
"Just a little."
"Right...so tomorrow, if I bring this up, you're going to remember these were your words?"
"I am. And I'm going to be so excited when you remind me."
Mack laughed.
"Tell me yes." Dominic said and kissed him again.
"Don't use seduction as a way to manipulate me. It always works." Mack complained but kissed him again.
Dominic smiled. "Tell me yeeeessss..." he whined.
"I gotta take it up with my boss first." Mack joked.

Dominic backed up and looked at him.
"I'm your boss."
Mack laughed to himself. "Yea, baby, that's the point." He pulled Dominic back to him by his shirt and the two kissed again.
