01 || "no one likes you, tomioka-san"

(this chapter is based on the picture above ^ it's adorable, isn't it :^)

after the eventful hashiras meeting with tanjiro head-butting sanemi and all, giyuu tomioka stayed behind for a while, pacing oyakata-san's beautiful zen garden, not knowing that a pair of purple eyes were set upon him.

"ara ara~ why is the loner still here?" shinobu said, a smirk on her face. giyuu didn't turn to face her, remaining silent.
"no one likes you, tomioka-san" she teased, hopping towards the solid figure.

poke poke.

"yes kocho?" the male said, a tint of irritance in his voice.
"did you hear me?" "nobody likes y-"

a sudden burst of rain came from the sky, the water was cold and heavy. giyuu made a quick movement, lifting his haori over her. a look of shock was on her face for a moment, quickly resolving to her usual grin.

"ara-ara, what's this, tomioka-san?" she said, looking up at giyuu.
"shut up, where are you heading to?" he asked, his voice monotonous.
"why, the butterfly mansion of course, where else would I-"

giyuu started sprinting, tugging shinobu's wrist, his face emotionless as he looked ahead.
"it's not nice to interrupt, tomioka-san." she stated, laughing.

why was i doing this? i don't know.

i didn't want kocho to get wet, to get her hair dampened.

the rain was still heavy as before, as the two met butterfly mansion, rain sliding off of the roof. he knocked loudly twice until finally aoi swung open the door.

"master shinobu! the rain was so heavy, i was so worried about you! you didn't bring your umbrella, I was about to go looking for you! are you-" she stopped at the sight of tomioka, her eyes scanning the both of them.

"ara, aoi! Thanks for worrying about me!" said shinobu, smiling at the blue-haired woman. aoi's eyes narrowed at giyuu, but moved aside for the short lady.

shinobu walked inside, trying not to show any signs of redness on her face.

tomioka smelled of fresh mint- why am I even thinking this?

she stopped, realising that tomioka-san was still outside.
"hm.. tomioka-san, how about you stay in the butterfly mansion for a while before the rain stops?" shinobu asked.

what am I thinking? this is a depressed loner that I am inviting inside my home.

but he's pretty..

SHINOBU WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?

"it's alright." answered giyuu, taking a step further from the house.

"no, I insist." i said, beating myself inside.
why did i say that? why? why? why?

tomioka-san looked thoughtful for a second before saying, "alright then." stepping inside.

"are you kidding me" groaned shinobu, not aware that she had spoken her thoughts aloud.
"what?" giyuu asked, turning to face her. his eyebrow raised and a look of confusion on his face.
"i- i- nevermind."
