giyuu laid a mattress beside his bed, which of course, he would sleep on, while shinobu would sleep on his bed. the room was small and had a tatami bed centred.

he looked through the window. it was nearing nightfall, the sun fell slightly behind the jagged mountains, that the blue eyes had grown used to.

"tell kocho about your feelings."

giyuu sighed quietly, noticing the sublime, purple eyes of the short lady, gazing upon his back.

"why are you so annoying, tomioka-san?" shinobu asked, staring him up and down, a taunting smile, lurking on her smooth face.

"annoying? i didn't even do anything." giyuu said, as he held back from rolling his eyes.

if anything is annoying, it's you.

"yes, you did. you ate my gyoza. it was in my mouth." shinobu stated, striking him with her sharp glare.

"i like gyoza." he said blandly, challenging her glare with an apt gaze.

"well, i like it more." she replied, slapping him across the face.

giyuu raised his eyebrows at her, still not shifting his gaze. "you need to stop slapping me, mosquito."

"hmph. if you admit you were wrong for eating my gyoza, i'll buy you salmon daikon." shinobu said, knowing that she had won the argument.

giyuu's hard stare turned into a wide-eyed expression, with his mouth hanging wide open.

"really?" he asked, his tone softened.

"ara-ara, tomioka-san! what a quick change of mood, now I know what to bribe you with!" shinobu laughed.

giyuu scoffed.

so she won't get me salmon daikon? so mean..

"the bed is yours." giyuu said, walking out of the room.

"ara ara, tomioka-san" kocho said, hopping after him. "what's with that poker face?"

giyuu ignored the woman, and walked into an empty room with a screen door occupying the north side wall.

"why isn't there anything in here?" shinobu asked.

"because, i don't know what to put." giyuu admitted, not seeing the problem with it.

"weirdo." shinobu laughed.

giyuu pulled pushed open the door, to reveal a starry canvas, grasping onto the thick, crescent-shaped moon upon the dark blue sky.

shinobu's mouth hung open in awe. the sight was so ravishing.

she examined giyuu's face. he seemed to be just in awe as she was.

"月が綺麗ですね" (the moon is beautiful, isn't it?) shinobu breathed, still astonished at what was before her eyes.

he turned to face her, his face blank, then he turned away once again, nodding.

"shinobu." he finally said, almost a whisper.

surprised to see such a change of tone, shinobu turned to face him.

"yes?"

giyuu shuffled uncomfortably.

"i've come to a decision." he said. "that I'd like to share how I feel about you." he muttered finally, turning to face her.

his eyes reminded her of the glistening, blue ocean, but somehow, they were filled with sadness. for the first time, shinobu actually felt bad for him, for how lonely he was. he never mentioned if he had any family with him.

"go on." she said, smiling at him softly.

giyuu's lifted a hand to the side of her face.

"since the day that we met-"

CAW CAW.

"master is calling tomioka giyuu, and kocho shinobu to his mansion. now."
