as shinobu slided open the door, she wasn't prepared for a marvellous day to be ruined.

"shinobu-sama!" aoi bursted as soon as she walked in.

behind aoi, shinobu made out that inside, sumi, kiyo, and naho ran around like loose pigs. zenitsu sat on the ground in total shock, looking as if he had just seen a ghost, and inosuke zoomed from door to door, bringing back and forth what seemed like a towel stained in... was that... blood?!

"what happened!?" shinobu demanded, dumbfounded by the butterfly mansion in absolute havoc.

"it's kanao."

as soon as those words gushed out of the blue haired woman's mouth, shinobu bolted. she bolted as though her life depended on it. and that was partly true. she just could not lose kanao as well.

Giyuu checked himself in the reflection of a road puddle, fixed his hair, and glanced up at the mountain that held trees looming and towering over his green, yellow, and red haori.

Sagiri Mountain really hadn't quite changed at all since he last had been here (which was about 4 years ago when he had been made a hashira.) He stalked closer, examining the small hut at the foot of the mountain.

Giyuu thought it would have been nice to meet with an old friend, he was trying to change the best he could.

Taking a deep breath, he rapped his knuckles against the door. At first, nobody answered, but just as he raised his hand to knock again, the door was pulled open by a white-haired man.

He wore the same old red tengu mask on his face, and his kimono was blue and swarmed with milky-white clouds.

Before Giyuu could greet him, he was wrapped into a tight embrace. How good it felt to be hugged, he hadn't been embraced like this for too long.

"Konnichiwa, Tomioka-san." Urokodaki said, nodding at Giyuu.

"Konnichiwa." Giyuu replied.

Smile. Smile. Smile. Smile. Smile. You want to change right? SMILE. WPAOSKJSHSHS. SMILE.

Giyuu pulled up the sides of his mouth, bringing out a beautiful smile at Urokodaki, who even though his face was covered, anyone could tell he was in shock.

"Giyuu—" Was all he could manage. A second or two of silence. "That girl really did change you, didn't she?" He finally said, welcoming him in.

Girl? Who? Giyuu thought, searching his mind for any girl he could find, but he could only think of Tsukato & Kocho. Urokodaki knew that Tsukato had been... dead, and he probably didn't even know about the insect hashira.

Finally, he took the bite. "What girl?"

"Your girlfriend, of course." He grunted, while he and Giyuu sat on blue zaisus. Urokodaki poured Giyuu a cup of green tea, and slided it across the kotatsu table.

Giyuu searched his mind harder. Girlfriend?

Giyuu *chuckled* "I think you've forgotten who I am, Urokodaki-sensei. I don't have a girlfriend."

The old man curiously eyed Giyuu through his mask.

"Well of course you do, the one that you had a date with on.." He raised his fingers to count. "Two days ago."

"A date with two days ago.." Giyuu repeated in wonder.

Shinobu?!!!!

He spat out his tea in realisation.

"How did you know?!" He asked urgently, he couldn't remember ever telling the former hashira about the date.

Urokodaki wiped the kotatsu table with a blue, patterned cloth. "A kind lady asked for your address. Seems that my memory isn't that rusty at all— 802 Hot People Road, is it?"

Giyuu didn't reply. So this was the man that Shinobu had asked for his address. Urokodaki was the man that had given Shinobu his address.

Quickly, Giyuu shot a response.

"Sensei, the lady is not my girlfriend.. she- she's a colleague."

"Hmm." Urokodaki grumbled a suit-yourself noise.

"I'm not lying." Giyuu muttered.

Urokodaki tilted his head toward him, and made the noise again.

"Urokodaki-sensei, are you mad at me?!"

"Why wouldn't I be? You tricked this old man into thinking you had finally become a man and get yourself a pretty little lady." He started. "This is why nobody likes you, Giyuu."

Giyuu eyed him in absolute disbelief.

In the medical bed, Kanao laid. Bandages wrapped around her head, her arms were bandaged thickly and thoroughly, while her legs were elevated, and hung upwards. Her torso was covered in a stained blanket. And all of the bandages covering Shinobu's poor sister were wine-red.

"Kanao!" Shinobu gasped, rushing to her side, and taking her sister's hand. Kanao let out an almost-silent gasp, as she turned to her sister.

Kanao remained silent. Her mouth sealed shut, and suddenly, tears exploded from her eyes. Hurt embraced Shinobu so tightly that she felt she was going to explode. Kanao had been greatly injured, while Shinobu was on cloud 9.

Shinobu clasped Kanao in her arms as gently as possible, letting her sister's head rest upon her shoulder. She bit her lip, and suddenly realised that Kamado Tanjiro was on the other side of Kanao's bed.

"Who did this to her?" She asked firmly, watching as Tanjiro shifted uneasily.

"It was a demon." Tanjiro said. "A demon located that way. North." He pointed out the window.

"Screw that human-devouring monster." Shinobu cursed, as she darted out the door.
