Chapter Fifteen:
I opened the door of the apartment and crept in, shutting the door quietly.
"Snake?"
I looked over and saw Cry sitting on the couch.
"Hey," I said, dropping my keys on the table, "how's Sophi?"
"She's good. She's asleep."
I nodded, pulling my shirt over my head. I winced slightly at the burning pain in my back.
"Snake!" Cry exclaimed, "you're bleeding!"
I looked down and saw blood trailing down my chest. I wiped it off on my shirt.
"Snake," Cry said, gently, getting off the couch and walking over to me, "what did you do?"
I glanced over at him, "don't ask so many questions. And just get me the first aid from the bathroom."
Cry did as I asked as returned with the white box. I opened it, taking out the peroxide and cleaning my cuts.
"Snake, is he dead?"
I looked at him again, "I thought I said to not ask questions."
"I need to know."
I sighed, "He's no longer a problem. I'll say that."
Cry gave a frustrated groan, "Snake. Dammit. You know what happened last time. You NEED to control your rage. I'm always on your side but now you have a baby and Sophi. You can't go around allowing your rage to take over."
"I know I have a baby on the way," I snapped, "but mind your business. I am in control. You know what he did to Sophi. That scum didn't need to live."
I hissed in pain as I cleaned the gash on my arm.
"I agree that he didn't deserve to have the gift of life, but you didn't need to kill him."
"You're the one who said I killed him. Not me."
Cry ran his hand through his hair, "Snake, last time, last time we almost lost you. You were sloppy and almost got caught. If it wasn't for us, including Sophi, lying for you, you would be rotting in jail right now. And dammit I won't allow you to put Sophi in that position again!"
"Cry, if you are insinuating that I would purposely put Sophi and that baby in a dangerous position, then I suggest you pick your words very wisely or I will give YOU first hand experience of my rage," I growled.
"I'm not scared Snake. Someone needs to tell you to be careful. She needs you. THAT BABY NEEDS YOU!" Cry yelled.
"Shut. Up!" I snapped, looking over at the bedroom door, "if you want to protect Sophi and keep her out of this, then keep your voice down."
Cry shook his head and was silent for a moment, "please at least tell me no one saw you and you cleaned up."
"I took care of it."
"Took care of what?"
Cry and I stopped mid conversation and looked over. Sophi stood in the bedroom door. Her cute pregnant belly showed under my button up that she was wearing. She looked absolutely gorgeous, even if she was pregnant as hell. My heart swelled when I looked at her.
"Hey baby," I said softly.
Her eyes widened, "Snake, what happened?"
I looked down at my cut up self and gave her my best carefree smile, "nothing love. I went out to get you something to cheer you up and got into a small fender bender."
"Snake," she pleaded softly, "are you okay?"
"Of course baby. I'm just going to get cleaned up and then I'll come to bed. Why don't you go lay down and wait for me."
I walked over to her and kissed her softly, "I love you."
"I love you too," she said going back into the bedroom.
After she closed the door, Cry looked at me.
"She's going to figure it out. When she sees that the car isn't smashed up."
"I said it's taken care of."
"You smashed up your car?!"
I looked at him with a look that said to keep his voice down, "lets just drop it. I need to sleep. You can crash on the couch. Just, you know what to say if anyone asks questions."
Cry looked at me, silent for a moment before shaking his head, "you're unbelievable. But fine. Not for you though, for Sophi. She can NOT go through this."
"What ever makes you happy. We will talk about this later, okay?"
He nodded. I finished cleaning up. Going into the bathroom, I took a shower, throwing my bloodied clothes into a bag. I went into the bedroom and climbed into bed.
Sophi rolled over, moving closer and laying her head on my chest. I could hear gentle snores coming from her.
I stroked her hair gently. I loved this girl and this baby. They were my family. My heart. My world. And I would DIE to keep them safe, but I would take a few motherfuckers down with me.
I kissed her forehead and closed my eyes, settling into a peaceful sleep.
