Authors Note: I'm thinking of ending this soon. So let me know if you want me to finish it and maybe make a sequel or just keep going with this and not make a sequel.
Chapter Eighteen:
Two years later:
"Harleen Cambria Sioux, leave Apollo's ears alone," I scolded the toddler who sat on the floor pulling on the Dobermans ear.
She was sitting on the floor of the living room, being watched very closely by her personal bodyguard.
She just giggled as Apollo licked her forehead. I smiled and shook my head. The door bell rang and I got up to answer it. Apollo was close on my heels, but sat in the doorway of the living room where he could see both me and Harleen.
I opened the door and saw Red standing there. Apollo gave a groan of approval after seeing whoever it was wasn't a threat and went about his patrol of the house before sitting back down next to Harleen.
"Hey Red," I said, giving her a smile and a hug as she walked in.
Snake and I had moved out of Cry's house a year ago. But we stayed close, buying the house that was next door to him.
"Hey Sophi. Where's my little niece?" she asked, following me back to the living room.
Harleen's eyes lit up when she saw Red.
"Aunt Red!" The girl squealed. She slowly pushed herself up and took clumsy steps towards Red.
Red smiled and picked her up.
"Hey baby girl," Red said, hugging her close, "it looks like you and I are going to have a party while mommy and daddy go out."
"Party! party!" Harleen cheered, clapping her little hands.
I laughed and headed upstairs to the bedroom, Red and Apollo following me.
"Thank you so much for watching her," I said.
"Not a problem, you haven't gotten out in almost two years."
I sighed, "I know. And I know she's in safe hands I'm just still nervous about leaving her."
Red nodded, putting Harleen in the play pen I had in my room.
"I understand. But everything will be okay. come on, let's get ready."
Snake's POV:
I was on my way home after picking up something for tonight. I patted the pocket of my suit jacket. I was going to propose to Sophi tonight and make our family official. Cry and Red had helped me pick out her ring. And I had gotten to sit down and ask her uncle for permission last week. I couldn't wait.
I pulled into the driveway. I got out of my car and headed into the house. When I opened the door I was greeted with Apollo standing by the door.
"Hey soldier," I said, patting his head, "where is everyone?"
He headed upstairs and I followed him to the bedroom.
I opened the door slowly. Sophi was in the bathroom, putting on earrings.
"Daddy!"
I smiled and bent down, picking up Harleen.
"How was your day princess? You have a good day?"
She nodded, smiling and wrapping her little arms around my neck, giving me a hug.
"Are you excited to stay with Aunt Red tonight?"
She nodded again, this time more quickly.
"Party!" she cheered.
Sophi chuckled and stepped out of the bathroom.
"Red told her they were going to have their own party."
"I see," I said, putting her down.
I took Sophi in my arms, "you look absolutely beautiful."
She blushed and muttered a thanks.
Thirty minutes later we were walking out the door.
"And if she cries just give her her blanket. And don't forget the read to her. And we'll be just a call away if you need anything," Sophi called to Red from the car.
"Sophi, baby, she'll be okay. And Cry is across the street," I said, softly.
I know this was a big deal for her. We hadn't left Harleen with anyone beside Sophi's family since she was born. And even then it was for maybe 30 minutes while Sophi took a breather.
I took Sophi's hand and gave it a squeeze. She waved at Harleen and blew her kisses as I backed out of the drive way.
"Bye. I love you Harley!" she called.
Harleen waved back and blew her own sloppy kisses. I smiled.
"So where are we going?" Sophi asked once we got on the road.
"You'll see," I said, giving her a smile before raising her hand to my lips and kissing it gently.

"This place is so pretty," Sophi sighed with happiness, looking around the restaurant, "and the food was delicious."
I smiled at her, "I'm glad you like it."
I looked over at the private court yard right outside the restaurant. It was empty. Nows my chance.
I felt my stomach twist in knots. I had never been this nervous.
I stood up and held my hand out to Sophi. She looked confused but took it. I guided her outside to the court yard.
When we got outside, I turned to Sophi. The moonlight highlighted her features perfectly and made her red hair glow. I swallowed the butterflies I felt and cleared my throat. She looked at me.
"Is everything okay Snake?" she asked me, concern written on her face.
I nodded, taking her other hand, "Sophi. I have something really important to ask you."
"Okay," she said slowly.
I took a deep breath, "Sophi, we've had our ups as downs. There's plenty of times when you wanted to kill me and you had every right to. But I never once stopped loving you. And through all of this, and seeing that you weren't going to ever leave my side, I knew that you were the one. Now we have a beautiful daughter, our own little family like we always talked about. And I was wondering," I paused to take the box out of my pocket and got on one knee, "will you make our family official and marry me?"
