Authors Note:

This is the last chapter that I have written out before I came to the crossroads of ending this story or not. So I'm gonna go ahead and post this and the start the prequel.

Chapter Nineteen:

Sophi's POV:

I smiled to myself looking at the diamond that shone on my finger. I was walking down the street with Harleen, Apollo, Cry and Cry's new girlfriend Olivia.

Harleen was holding Apollo's leash in one hand and Cry's hand in the other. Harleen absolutely ADORED her god father. She thought the sun rose and set on him. Probably had a lot to do with the fact that he completely spoiled her.

"Cry! Cry!" Harleen squealed as she ran ahead of us stumbling slightly.

Apollo barely had to speed up to keep pace with her.

"Harley," I called after her sternly, "Harley, stay close."

She wasn't listening, just giggled and kept walking/running away.

"Apollo, bring her back," I said with a sigh.

Apollo quickly sped up his pace and stopped a couple feet in front of Harleen' standing across the width of the sidewalk.

Harleen walked into him and fell backward on her butt. She started to sniffle and Apollo sniffed her like he was checking her over. Cry bent down and scooped her up.

"Little Harley Quinn, you can't run off from us. You might get lost, okay?" he said softly.

She nodded, still pouting. Harleen was convinced her name is Harley Quinn with how much Cry calls her that. Technically it was, I did name her after Harley Quinn.

We continued down the street, Harleen still in Cry's arms. We neared the park which was our destination when I heard someone calling my name.

"Whose calling my name?" I asked Cry.

He shrugged and looked around before pointing at a woman who was coming towards us, waving. I didn't recognize her at all. She was not elderly but maybe her late 40s to early 50s.

"Do you know her?" Olivia asked, looking just as confused as I was. I shook my head.

"Apollo," I said, "Guard."

Apollo came from walking beside me to directly infront of all of us, like the leader of a pack.

As the lady drew closer I could see more of her features. She wore her hair in a bun, it's was light brown but starting to grey in some places. Her face was old and I could see worry lines.

"Sophi," she said with a smile when she reached us, "it's nice to finally meet you."

She tried to reach around and hold her hand out for me to shake, but Apollo's warning growl made her change her mind. He stood before her, moving whenever she did not breaking eye contact or letting his guard down.

"Um. Thanks," I said, "I'm sorry but do I know you?"

She laughed and shook her head, "seeing as how I've never met you, no I wouldn't believe so. My name is Beverly. But you can call me Bev."

"Nice to meet you."

Beverly turned to Harleen that was still being held by Cry. Harleen had her face tucked into Cry's neck, hiding.

"Well she's absolutely beautiful. She looks just like her father," Beverly said, the smile never leaving her face.

There was something dark and menacing behind her smile. Cry looked at me.

"Excuse me?" I said, turning to her. My nerves were rattled but I wasn't going to let her know this and I kept my composure.

"Stephen. She looks just like Stephen," she said, her voice becoming low as she looked at me.

My heart fell into my stomach.

"Who are you?" I said.

"Beverly," she said, the smiling coming back, "I already said that."

"How do you know about Stephen?" I asked, feeling uneasy and taking Harleen from Cry.

"He was my son."

"Sophi, Olivia," Cry said, "take Harleen back to my house."

I nodded and pulled on Apollos leash but he didn't budge.

"I got him," Cry said.

I nodded once more and turned to head back the way we came. AFter a few feet I turned around and saw Cry was still in a stand off with her. Apollo was still in guard mode.

Olivia and I quickly walked back to Cry's house, locking the door behind us. After we got in I quickly put Harleen in front of the TV and asked Olivia to watch her for a minute.

I quickly ran to the upstairs bathroom and locked the door. I started to panic. I took my phone out and called Snake.

"Hey babe. What's up?" he said when he answered.

"Snake. Stephens mother is here. She came up to us on the way to the park. She saw Harley. She tried to talk to her. She said Harley looked like Stephen!"

"Calm down. Where are you now?"

I could hear him moving papers, "we're at Cry's. Me and Olivia. Cry stayed there with Apollo. I think he didn't want her to follow."

"Okay. Just stay there and wait for Cry. I have an hour left of work. Do you think you could handle it until I get home?"

"Yeah," I said softly, "I love you."

"I love you too baby," he said before hanging up.
