Chapter Eight

"Thanks babe," I said with a smile as I kissed Snake's cheek.

Sitting down I took a bite of the warm toast placed in front of me and smiled. I watched as Snake bustled around the kitchen. It wasn't a normal occurrence. Snake was normally at work by now.

"How come you're not at work?" I asked, taking another bite.

He looked over his shoulder and flashed a smile at me, "I figured I could be late one day and make you breakfast."

I smiled and continued to eat as I watched him clean and head back into the bedroom. When he returned, he was fully dressed for work.

"Come on," he said as I finished, "you're gonna be late for your second day."

I sighed, I was dreading going back to work after those guys.

Snake noticed my apprehension and rubbed my shoulder, "It'll be okay. If any thing happens, call me."

I nodded as I stood, carrying my plates to the sink. I headed back into the bedroom to get ready.

I sighed, "CeCe, how many more tables are there for us to wait before I can get some me time. I'm dying to get off of my feet."

I blew a stray strand of hair out of my face as I picked up and order. CeCe grabbed the plates next to mine and followed me to the dining room. I placed the food on the table, when I heard the bell ring. I looked up at the door and saw the same group of guys.

"Fuck," I muttered under my breath and quickly walked back to the kitchen, my head staying down.

"CeCe. Those guys are back." I whined.

She peeked out of the door and nodded, "You go out back and take a break, I'll take care of it."

I nodded and headed outside, taking out my phone. I scrolled through my contacts before hovering over Snake's name, debating whether to call him or not. I sighed and pulled my headphones out of my pockets and plugging them in to listen to music.

He was probably busy anyways.

Snakes POV

I sighed as I looked over the developers proposal. There was no way their budget was going to be enough for the game they wanted to make.

Ring ring.

My cellphone went off beside me. I looked at the caller ID. Seeing it was CeCe I answered.

"Hello?"

"Snake," she said, "are you busy?"

"Depends. What's up?"

"Those guys are back."

I froze before dropping the proposal back in the file and standing up, "I'll be there in ten. Where's Soph?"

"I sent her outside for a break."

"Good. Keep her out there."

I hung up and grabbed my keys. As I left the office I passed Luke, my supervisor.

"Where do you think you're going?" he snapped.

He could be a royal pain in the ass. Self righteous as fuck.

"I'm taking my lunch break," I said as I headed to the elevator, pushing the button and waiting for it.

"Lunch isn't for another hour," he called.

"Then dock my pay. I don't give a shit," I said, stepping into the elevator that was waiting for me. I gave him a small wave as the doors closed.

The whole ride there I debated what I was going to do. Pulling up in front of it, I headed in deciding to just go with the flow.

CeCe stood at the hostess stand.

"Where are they?" I asked.

She nodded at a table of college douches sitting by the bar.

"The one in the hat was the one who caused all the problems."

I nodded as I took a seat at the bar, where I had a clear view of the dude.

"Snake."

I looked up and saw Tyler.

"Hey."

"I know why you're here. don't get arrested. Sophi wouldn't know what to do."

"I won't," I said as I watched the guy head into the bathroom.

"Excuse me," I said as I followed him in.

I leaned against the sink as I waited for him to leave the stall. I heard the toilet flush. He walked out and began to wash his hands.

He looked up at me, "can I help you?"

"You see the red head?" I asked, casually, "heard she was pretty hot."

He smirked, drying his hands, "yeah. She was here yesterday. I was hoping to get to see her again. Got a nice feel for her yesterday if you know what I mean."

I gave a short laugh and nodded. As he walked passed me to leave I grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him back. He stumbled, caught off guard, and was backed against the wall of the stall.

"What the hell man!" he shouted.

Thud.

He head made a hollow sound as it hit the wall, the force of my punch sending his head back and it bounced.

There was blood starting to come from his nose already.

"Are you fucking insane?!"

He came at me but I side stepped and he ran face first into the paper towel dispenser behind me. Grabbing the back of his shirt again, I dragged him to the stall, kicking it open.

"Let go!" he yelled.

"Shut up," I growled.

Putting my heel into the back of his knee he went down. I threw him down, his face hitting the toilet seat. Grabbing his hair I shoved him face first into the water.

"Shit like you is what makes me sick."

I pulled his head up and he sputtered. I pulled him up to his feet and spun him around to face me. Putting my hands on either side of his collar I pulled him close, so there was no mistake of how serious I was.

"That red head, she's mine. You touch her again, I swear they will never find your body. If I ever get a call that you or any of your friends are here again, you'll be eating through a straw for the rest of your life. Do you understand?"

He nodded quickly.

"Good." One more punch to the jaw sent him to the ground in a crumpled heap.

I smirked, "KO."

I stepped out of the stall and to the mirror to adjust my tie. Leaving the bathroom, I stopped at the bar.

"Their bill is on me. I want them out. Oh and you should clean the bathroom."

"God dammit, Snake," Tyler said.

I smiled, "that's my phrase."

He shook his head and left.

"Snake?"

I turned and smiled, "Hey hun."

Sophi gave me a confused look, "what are you doing here? I didn't see you come in."

"You were on break. I just wanted to come by and see you. I'm having a pretty rough day. I figured see in your beautiful face would make it better," I said pulling her into a hug.

She blushed and hugged me, "Thank you."

"Don't mention it," I said, leaning back and capturing her lips in a kiss, "I have to head back to the office. See you at home."

I gave her another kiss before heading back out to the car. Driving back, I couldn't help but smile. It felt good to kick some ass. Especially if it was to keep her safe.
