Sophi's POV

I dropped my bag on the table and made my way to the kitchen. My feet were killing me but I had decided on the way home I would make dinner for Snake and I.

He called me to tell me he would be home late and he always comes home with a headache but still manages to make dinner for us. So I figured it would be a nice change. I pulled out some pork chops from the freezer and placed them into the sink.

As I left them there to thaw I placed a pot of water on the stove to boil and a sauce pan. Pulling out flour, I dumped it and some salt and pepper into a bowl.

"There," I said to myself, "now time to get out of this uniform."

I headed into the bedroom and stripped out of my clothes and pulled on some sweatpants and a T-shirt. Walking back into the kitchen I noticed the water was boiling. I brought out some pasta and put it in the pot of boiling water.

About an hour later, I was placing the finishing touches on the dinner and setting the table as I heard the door open.

"Sophi?"

"In here," I called.

Snake walked into the kitchen. His eyes widened in surprise.

"Hey," I said with a smile.

He dropped his briefcase on the table and loosened his tie, "What's the occasion?"

"Well you do so much for me so I figured it would be nice to do something for you for a change. I always loved to cook, I haven't done it for a while though," I admitted shyly.

He smiled softly and walked over, kissing my forehead.

"I appreciate it. Do you mind if I take a shower before though?" he asked.

"Not at all," I said, smiling at him.

He headed into the shower.

Twenty minutes we were seated at the table, ready to eat.

"This is really good," Snake said, taking my hand as he took a bite of the pork chops.

I smiled and muttered thanks.

"So how was your day?" I asked.

He sighed, and took a sip of his beer, "It was a typical day, though I have a really aggravating client."

"How so?"

"They seem to think they know how to develop this game with the budget that they gave us. They want fireworks, everything. However they don't realize that they don't have enough money for that."

I gave his hand a squeeze, "I'm sorry."

Snake shrugged and smiled at me, "No big deal. How was your day?"

"Work was work. But I was thinking about something?" I said, looking down.

Snake chuckled, "I see your plan now. You were just gonna butter me up with a delicious dinner and hope I said yes."

I giggled, "Something like that. But seriously, I'm in a better place and I'm just at ths spot where I want something to care for. Like a mother does a child-"

At that, Snake choked on his food.

"Are you okay?" I asked as he caught his breath.

He nodded, taking a sip of beer, "Honey, I love you. You know that. But we have so much to work on. We're not even together exactly. We're not ready for kids."

I gave him a confused look then my eyes widened, "No no no. I want a KITTEN not a child."

Snake took a deep breath and looked relieved, "You really need to learn a better way to bring things up."

I blushed, "Sorry."

"Its okay. I think a kitten would be a good idea. We'll get one this weekend."

I smiled brightly, "Thank you Snake!"

"So this is the one?" Snake asked.

I looked up, smiling, "yep."

I held out the little orange kitten. It stared at Snake and he back at it. The kitten meowed.

Snake smiled, "alright."

I smiled and kissed the kittens head, "welcome to the family Calypso."

"Okay. You go look at collars. I'm going to go grab food and litter for the little one," Snake said as we pulled up to the pet store.

I nodded.

Snakes POV:

I grabbed the food and litter heading back to where I had left Sophi. I know she didn't like to be left alone for long.

As I turned the corner I saw Sophi. And I saw Steven.

"What's going on here?" I asked, walking over. I stood between them.

"Just talking to my girlfriend," Steven said with a smug look.

Sophi walked over to the cart and placed the bed in it and Calypso inside.

"She is not your girlfriend," I snarled.

"She was. And still is. Until I'm done with her."

"I'm not your girlfriend," Sophi said, standing beside me, "I'm Snake's."

She called me her boyfriend. Indirectly but she did. I'm her boyfriend! I'll celebrate later.

"Get out of here."

Steven looked at me. He backed up slowly.

"You haven't seen the last of me." He walked away.

I looked at Sophi.

"So I'm your boyfriend?"

She blushed, "Yes."

I leaned down and kissed her forehead.

"Welcome home Calypso," I said, plucking the kitten from Sophi's hand.

I placed her on the couch.

"Why don't you call Cry over. He can bring AK," I suggested.

Sophi smiled and nodded heading to the bedroom. I took out my phone and headed into the kitchen, closing the sliding doors.

I waited for the person to answer. When they did my question was simple: "Do you still have those "connections"?
